TAPIS A POINTS NOUES
La présente invention a pour objet une fabrication de ta- pis à points noués, susceptible de faire apparaître sur un fond, soit des portraits, soit des motifs ornementaux ou des images quelconques.
Pour la mettre en exécution, l'on partira d'un tissu de fond, formé par l'entrecroisement régulier de fils de trame au travers de fils de chaîne. Les fils de trame seront passés à la main, généralement au nombre de quatre, et tassés au pei- gne de fer. Ils composeront ainsi des bandes larges de plus ou moins 6 millimètres suivant la qualité et allant d'une li- sière à l'autre. Ayant préparé ce fond, chaque point de la mi- se au quart du dessin sera un point noué à la main.
A cet effet, l'on prendra des fils de laine (ou bien, si l'on tient à produire un article plus luxueux, la laine pourra être rem- placée par de la soie naturelle ou artificielle) et l'on exécutera, sur le tissu de fond des points noués en rangées également successives alternant avec les rangées de tissu de

fond, leur largeur équivalant à l'épaisseur de la laine (ou autre fil) servant à les nouer.
Chacun de ces noeuds constitue un élément d'un dessin qui peut représenter tout sujet que l'on désire, et occupe, dans la surface du tapis, un rectangle ayant environ 3 sur 4 milli- mètres.
Ces tapis sont ensuite rasés à la main. La figure 1 des dessins annexés en représente la texture d'un d'eux en cours d'exécution sur un chassis C tandis que la figure 2 montre, en vue de devant, un des noeuds N prenant la chaîne c et que la figure 3 fait voir le même, considéré de l'arrière.

RUG WITH TIE POINTS
A subject of the present invention is the manufacture of lockstitch rugs capable of showing on a background either portraits, or ornamental patterns or any images.
To implement it, we will start from a background fabric, formed by the regular interweaving of weft threads through warp threads. The weft threads will be passed by hand, generally four in number, and packed with an iron comb. They will thus compose wide bands of more or less 6 millimeters depending on the quality and going from one binder to another. Having prepared this background, each stitch from the center to the quarter of the design will be a hand-tied stitch.
For this purpose, one will take woolen threads (or, if one wishes to produce a more luxurious article, the wool can be replaced by natural or artificial silk) and one will carry out, on the background fabric of the knotted stitches in equally successive rows alternating with the rows of

bottom, their width equivalent to the thickness of the wool (or other thread) used to tie them.
Each of these knots constitutes an element of a design which can represent any subject that one wishes, and occupies, in the surface of the carpet, a rectangle having approximately 3 by 4 millimeters.
These rugs are then shaved by hand. Figure 1 of the accompanying drawings shows the texture of one of them running on a frame C while Figure 2 shows, in front view, one of the nodes N taking the chain c and that Figure 3 made see the same, viewed from the rear.
