<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"ROTATING APPARATUS LIKELY TO FULFILL THE ROLE OF MA-
CHINESE OPERATING BY CONNECTING RODS AND PISTONS "
The present patent application relates to a rotary apparatus capable of fulfilling the role of all kinds of machines whatever the intended destinations, functioning by connecting rods and pistons, A oet effect the apparatus is formed by two eccentric cylinder bodies. 'a compared to. the other, of which the exterior forming a casing comprises an inlet or opening, an exhaust opening and two side walls' in which are arranged the ball bearings of the cylindrical body, the interior constituting the movable member which inner body possesses,
two housed radial pistons fuel appropriate bores and constantly maintained in contact with the internal face of the outer body and this by means of connecting rods fixed on the one hand to the head of a fixed crank whose arm equals the value of the exenridity and on the other hand
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
to said pistons via ball joints. It follows that during the rotation of the device envisaged, a series of suction and discharge phases are formed which follow one another continuously.
As mentioned, these phases are used to cause the rotary apparatus to act as a generator of motive force when the fluid is supplied under pressure, or when the pressure is developed therein, for example by the ignition of an explosive mixture. , finally as a receiving device such as a pump.
In order to bring out the above description more clearly, the appended drawings show:
Fig.1 a section along A-B-C, fig.2 of the rotary apparatus considered in accordance with the invention.
Fig.2 a section along C-D fig.1.
Referring to the figures above, the apparatus comprises an outer cylindrical body or housing! provided with an intake opening 2 and an exhaust opening 3.
4 are shown the side flanges, provided with ball bearings 5 and 6. The inner cylindrical body 7 is eccentric with respect to the cylindrical body 1 of the value a, and is integral with a hollow shaft 8.
In the center is arranged the crank 9 of a fixed shaft 10, integral for example at 11 with a flange, attached to the side flange 4.
On the head of the crank 9 are articulated the connecting rods 12, on the other hand connected to the ball joints 13 lining the heads of the pistons 14 moving in the cylindrical parts 15 of the inner cylindrical body 7.
The connecting rods of the pistons for keeping them in contact with the inner wall of 1 are provided with suitable length adjustment devices.
The device applied as a viscous fluid pump also has an orifice 16 located behind each piston communicating with the central part in relation to the suction.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
so that it proceeds from the centrifugal pump and the piston pump.
In the drawing CI-.Joint the body 1 is fixed and the body 2 is mobile it evolves following the arrow.
If we consider the piston 14 driven in this movement, the latter pushes in front of it the fluid between the internal surfaces of the body 1 and external of the body 7 * and the side walls * towards 1 * exhaust 3.
During this time behind this same piston 14 this creates a depression which calls for new fluid which enters through the orifice ± * the other piston 14 does the same work.
This produces the suction and pressure pump or the compressor or the pneumatic machine.
Assuming port 2 is connected to a source of pressurized fluid, one obtains a single motor apparatus such as a steam lachine, compressed air, hydraulic machine, etc.
If the orifice 2 is connected to the discharge of a so-called high pressure steam machine, and when 3 an injection of cold water is introduced, the steam which reaches it is condensed, and the steam condenser is thus produced.
By two elements grouped together, one sucking and compressing a holding mixture, the other using the expansion of the gases after explosions as indicated above, this two-stroke engine is produced.
It goes without saying that the envisaged apparatus lends itself to different constructive modalities depending on its destination. Thus one could apply to pistons such as 14 other articulation systems, or any other device consisting in following rigorously concentrically with the interested surface of one of the cylindrical bodies 1¯ and 7.
It would also be possible to keep the body 7 fixed and
1 dre the mobile body, and vice versa as shown in the drawing or else, the two bodies 1 and 7 can move. As in a differential movement, one can also consider
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
the application of suitable sealing devices where the need would require either segments or the like.
Provision should also be made as part of the field of the invention, in particular in the internal combustion engine, for the use of the heat lost to the exhaust in all its forms, for example by creating steam whose pressure, would be used in either element of the group, involving expansion, relaxation, and condensation.
In summary, the advantages of the rotary apparatus envisaged are the following:
1) Application of the tangential force.
2) Removal of the connecting rod and duet losses at its obliquity.
3) Possibility of applying the pressure of fluids in machines such as turbines, eliminating the disadvantages resulting from the live force, while benefiting from many of its advantages.
4) Elimination of the drawback of inertia forces in machines with connecting rods and pistons.
5) elimination of the friction forces due to the centrifugal force by the device of the adjustable connecting rod.
CLAIMS
1) Rotary apparatus capable of fulfilling the role of machines operating by connecting rods and pistons, characterized in that it consists of a cylindrical body in the form of an envelope provided with orifices and containing another eccentric cylindrical body with respect to the first, one or the other of these bodies comprising radial pistons with imposed displacement due to the eccentricity given to the cylindrical bodies present and this due to the fact that said pistons are connected by connecting rods to the journal of a fixed crank, integral with one of the bodies and the length of the crank arm of which equals the eccentricity of the two cylindrical bodies.
