Il existe actuellement des machines à coudre qui sont placées sur dea meubles ayant l'aspect d'une caisse ou. d'un bahut et montées de manière à pouvoir être dissimulées par escamotage à l'intérieur de cette caisse lorsque l'on ne se sert paa de la machine à coudre.

Jusqu'à présent, ces meubles et'tendaient jusqu'au ras du. sol et étaient sans pieds en vue d'enfermer tout la bâti de la machine à coudre et de la dissimuler entièrement avec sa pédale à la vue, lorsque la machina était escamotée et le meu- ble fermé ; ces meubles avaient, par suite, un aspect lourd et disgracieux.
La présente invention a pour objet de remédier à cet inconvénient et consiste en principe à dissimuler la pédale qui sert à actionner la machine à condfe , en la relevant, au moment où l'on ferme le meuble, à un certain niveau et en l'f- façant, de manière que lorsque la machine est placée dans un meuble surélevé sur des pieds, la pédale se trouve du fait de ce relèvement dissimulée à la vue On est ainsi en mesure de réaliser des meubles enfermant une machine à coudre , ayant l'aspect de commodesou de petites armoires, de stylesles ces différents et très décoratifs, en aorte que l'on peut placer ces machines à coudre enfermées dans ces meubles,
dans des pièces où elles en constituent en partie l'ornementation.
Le relèvement et l'effacement de cette pédale peuvent âtre réalisés concurremment avec l'secaomotage de la machine à coudre qui a lieu par basculement de la tablette sur laquelle elle repose ou par la fermeture de la porte du meuble ou bien par le rabattement de la table qui fora* la dessus du meuble, ou encore d'un* manière tout à fait indépendante, par une ma- noeuve complémentaire.
La description qui va suivre, en regard du dessin annexé, donné à titre d'exemple, fera bien comprendre la manière dont cette invention peut être réalisme.
La Fig . 1 représente en vue de face un meuble ayant l'as- pect d'une commode Louis KVI, dans lequel se trouve dissimulée la machine à coudre.

La fig.3 est une élévation en coupe dans laquelle la pédale est abaissée pour occuper sa position de travail.

Le dispositif de relèvement et d'effacement représenté à titre d'exemple sur ls figs. 1, 2, 3, 5 et 6 se compose d'un levier du premier genre pivotant a dont l'une des extré- mités porte un galet 1 roulant sur une came ± rapportée au.- dessous de la tablette basculante d qui porte la machine à coudere: l'autre extrémité dadit levier est reliée par une chat- ne e à un support ± basculant formé de deux bras pivotant en h, ainsi quton le voit en plan fig.4, qui portent la pédale ± et sur lesquels elle est articulée de manière à osciller à la ma- nière ordinaire.
Le fonctionnement de ce dispositif est le suivant:
Dans la position représentée fig,2, la tablette d est renversée à l'intérieur du meuble pour escamoter la tête de a machine, et ce renversement détermine par l'intermédiaire de la came c le basculement du levier a ; celui-ci soulève par la chaîne e l'on des bras et par naît* la pédale et l'autre bras reliés par l'axe d'oscillation i de la pédale. L'ensemble des bras 1 et de la pédale jg se trouve ainsi relevé.

Until now, these pieces of furniture have extended to the level of the. floor and were without feet in order to enclose the entire frame of the sewing machine and to conceal it entirely with its pedal from view, when the machine was retracted and the furniture closed; these pieces of furniture therefore had a heavy and unsightly appearance.
The object of the present invention is to remedy this drawback and consists in principle of concealing the pedal which is used to actuate the condfe machine, by raising it, when the cabinet is closed, to a certain level and by removing it. f- Facing, so that when the machine is placed in a cabinet raised on feet, the pedal is because of this lifting concealed from view.We are thus able to produce cabinets enclosing a sewing machine, having the 'appearance of dressers or small cupboards, of different styles and very decorative, in aorta that we can place these sewing machines locked in these pieces of furniture,
in rooms where they are part of the ornamentation.
The raising and erasing of this pedal can be carried out concurrently with the ecaomotage of the sewing machine which takes place by tilting the tablet on which it rests or by closing the cabinet door or else by folding down the table which drills the top of the piece of furniture, or again in a completely independent manner, by a complementary handle.
The description which will follow, with reference to the accompanying drawing, given by way of example, will make it clear how this invention can be realized.

The raising and erasing device shown by way of example in figs. 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 consists of a lever of the first kind pivoting a, one of the ends of which carries a roller 1 rolling on a cam ± attached to the underside of the tilting shelf d which carries the sewing machine: the other end of said lever is connected by a chain e to a tilting support formed by two pivoting arms at h, as seen in the plan in fig. 4, which carry the pedal ± and on which it is articulated so as to oscillate in the ordinary way.
The operation of this device is as follows:
In the position shown in fig, 2, the shelf d is reversed inside the cabinet to retract the head of the machine, and this reversal determines, through the cam c, the tilting of the lever a; this one raises by the chain e one of the arms and by born * the pedal and the other arm connected by the axis of oscillation i of the pedal.
