Abstract

This invention concerns protective covers for books of different sizes, including hard-back books. Currently, the covers either have fixed dimensions, and are therefore made for a defined format, or have variable dimensions, for the height, width and thickness of the book. In this case, a system of two covers fixed to one another allow the cover to be adapted to the width and thickness of the book, while a system of flaps allows the cover to be adapted to the height of the book. This invention allows, for a book of a given height, to perfectly adapt the cover to the width and thickness of the book. Once the book has been placed inside the cover, the distance between a fixed mark (R) printed on the cover and the edge of the back cover of the book (E) is marked on the cover by means of a scale with double graduations.   La présente invention concerne les housses de protection permettant de recouvrir des livres de dimensions différentes, y compris les livres à couverture rigide. 



   Lorsque l'on veut recouvrir un livre à couverture rigide par une housse de protection, il est nécessaire de recourir à une housse ouverte ou semi-ouverte, afin de ne pas devoir plier la couverture du livre pour l'insérer dans la housse. Une fois le livre mis en place, un système de fermeture doit permettre de refermer la housse en s'adaptant aux dimensions du livre. 



  Actuellement, les housses existantes ont soit des dimensions fixes, et sont donc prévues pour un format fixe de livres, ou ont des dimensions variables, tant pour la hauteur que pour la largeur et l'épaisseur du livre. Dans ce cas, un système de deux demi-housses fixées entre elles après positionnement permet d'adapter la housse à la largeur et à l'épaisseur du livre, tandis qu'un système de rabats permet d'adapter la housse à la hauteur du livre. 



  La présente invention part du principe que la hauteur de la housse est fixe et correspond à une hauteur de livre déterminée. Par contre, le système de fermeture permet d'adapter exactement la housse aux différentes épaisseurs et largeurs de livres. 



  Le côté gauche de la housse est pourvu d'une visite (poche) de largeur fixe permettant de positionner la couverture recto du livre. Le côté droit de la housse est pourvu d'une visite de grande largeur, ouverte, permettant de positionner la couverture verso du livre, quelle que soit l'épaisseur ou la largeur de celui-ci. La housse est également pourvue d'un repère fixe (R), imprimé sur la housse. 



  Le livre étant en place, il suffit de reporter la distance entre le repère fixe (R) et l'extrémité de la couverture verso du livre (E) sur la partie droite de la housse au moyen d'une latte à double graduation dont le zéro est placé sur l'extrémité de la couverture verso. 



  Ce report (D) permet de déterminer exactement l'endroit où la visite de droite doit être découpée pour correspondre à la largeur et à l'épaisseur du livre. Après découpe, éventuellement en biseau, la partie de la visite dépassant la couverture est rabattue vers l'intérieur et se positionne exactement sur une bande adhésive fixe (A), prépositionnée sur la housse.

  With the book in place, simply transfer the distance between the fixed mark (R) and the end of the back cover of the book (E) on the right side of the cover by means of a double-graduation slat, the zero is placed on the end of the back cover.
