La figure 1 est une vue éclatée d'une unité fonctionnelle standard suivant l'invention et des organes de montage de cette unité ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The present invention relates generally to machines for cutting bread into slices and in particular to machines for cutting bread equipped with a cutting device comprising cutting blades with reciprocating movement.
A bread cutting machine of this type generally comprises a frame on which are mounted the frames supporting the cutting blades, the front and rear tables intended to carry the bread before and after cutting, a bread-pushing carriage intended to push the bread to be cut towards the cutting blades and the mechanical components for driving the cutting blades and the pusher. All these elements are arranged on the machine frame according to an arrangement which varies according to the type of machine. There are indeed machines with horizontal front and rear tables, machines with tilted rear table, counter machines among others. This variety of provisions is detrimental to a good rationalization of the manufacture of bread cutting machines.
The invention aims to allow advanced standardization of the manufacture of bread cutting machines.
To this end, it offers a construction method in which the functional elements are integrated into a functional unit arranged so that it can be anchored in any carcass by means of a predetermined number of fixing points. In this way, a functional unit can be used for the realization of different models of bread cutting machines, hence an optimal rationalization of manufacturing. In addition, the frame of the machine must no longer support the mechanical elements individually, and therefore the design of the carcass must no longer take into account imperatives or constraints linked to the mechanical support of the functional elements. This has the advantage that maximum freedom is thus left to the designer as to the aesthetic presentation of the models to be put on the market.
Finally, the limited number of attachment points of the functional unit in the carcass of a machine makes it possible to provide these attachment points with acoustic and vibration isolation devices, which makes the bread cutting machines quieter. and more respectful of the environment in which they are used.

The invention is described in more detail in the following with the aid of the accompanying drawings. In these drawings:
FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a standard functional unit according to the invention and of the mounting members of this unit;
Figures 2 and 3 illustrate the mounting of a standard functional unit according to Figure 1 in two models of bread cutting machine, shown by way of example.
According to the invention, the essential functional organs of a bread cutting machine are combined in a standard functional unit identified in the drawings by the reference sign 10. This functional unit is produced on a standard chassis. This consists of a body 11 (FIG. 1) having a first part 12 intended to house a cutting device and two parts 14 and 16 which delimit the sides of a housing for the mechanical drive members of the cutting blades. and toaster. The parts 14 and 16 of the body 10 extend transversely to the first part 12 over a greater length than the first part so as to present on either side of the first part 12 two zones 13 and 15 intended to arrange tables for carrying bread on each side of a cutting device.
The two parts 14 and 16 of the body 11 are provided with anchoring points 17 to allow the body to be fixed in any carcass 20 of a bread cutting machine. The functional unit 10 can be fixed in the carcass 20 in different positions so as to present the front and rear tables in a horizontal position or in inclined positions at the choice of the designer and according to the model of machine to be produced.
FIG. 2 illustrates the mounting of a standard functional unit according to the invention in an example of a bread cutting machine in which the front and rear tables are arranged practically horizontally. FIG. 3 illustrates the mounting of a standard functional unit according to the invention in an example of a bread cutting machine designed to present the front and rear tables in an inclined position relative to the horizontal plane. The same standard functional unit can thus be manufactured to be fitted in a large number of bread cutting machine models. The invention thus allows a great rationalization of manufacturing and in addition it greatly simplifies the assembly of bread cutting machines.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The essential organs of a bread cutting machine being combined in a standard unit 10, the functional sub-assembly that constitutes the unit 10 according to the invention can be mounted by means of a limited number of predetermined fixing points. Being thus predetermined, it is much easier to provide these fixing points with acoustic and vibration isolation devices so as to make the bread cutting machines thus equipped quieter and less generating vibrations.
It is understood that the shape of the standard functional unit is in no way limited to that shown in the drawings and that the models of bread cutting machine shown to receive the standard functional unit according to the invention are only two examples given without spirit of limitation.
