<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

DISPOSABLE BIB This invention relates generally to the field of bibs.
There is no doubt that the bib represents a necessity for infants and young children for example. Indeed, the bib makes it possible to avoid or at least delay the degradation and soiling of the clothing of its user. The bib is generally put to the test, as well subjected to the actions of liquid materials, such as soup, milk, water, as to the action of less fluid foods such as jam, chocolate and many more.
Currently the bib is an object which is reused after cleaning which is often awkward and unpleasant given the attacks to which it is subjected.
The bib is generally attached to the user's neck using two cords or a snap fastener (s). Therefore there is if not a danger, at least a risk of seeing the person hang his bib with any element and therefore undergo an oppression at the neck.
The object of the invention is to remedy the drawbacks of known conventional bibs.
To this end, the present invention provides a disposable bib, thus avoiding the painful task of cleaning.
The body of the bib according to the invention consists
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
at least two layers of synthetic or natural material. One of these layers is intended for protection, that is to say that it is impermeable to liquid agents and the like. So that the liquid does not spill over the child's body, the protective layer is supplemented by at least one layer intended for absorption.
The disposable bib, generally rectangular in shape, may however take any shape and size adapted to the size and build of children over the age of one hand, and of the user in general on the other hand .
In a preferred embodiment, the disposable bib is also provided with safety microperforations properly positioned to allow the body to be detached from the bib by sufficient traction on said body. It is thus easy to prevent the bib from hampering the user in his movements and risk being hung with danger of strangulation for the user.
The disposable bib may have an opening intended to close around the neck of a person by means of a closure system, for example by adhesive, allowing rapid and easy fitting of the disposable bib.
In an advantageous alternative embodiment, however, the disposable bib has a solid body which has microperforations delimiting on the top of the bib a detachable surface of the body so as to leave an opening intended to close around the neck of a user by means a closure system
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
re, for example by adhesive. This surface being detached from the bib, it can be used as a coaster in order to deposit a bottle, a cup, a glass or any other object thus avoiding the stain of the object on which it rests.
The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 shows the disposable bib with an opening and safety microperforations.
Figure 2 is a variant of Figure 1 where the safety microperforations are arranged otherwise.
Figure 3 is a variant of Figure 1 where the opening is to be achieved by removing the portion of material delimited by microperforations.
Figure 4 is a variant of Figure 3 where the location of the security microperforations differs.
The various figures show a bib having a body (l) of generally rectangular shape. The body (1) of the bib consists of at least two layers, one intended for protection and another intended for absorption. These layers can be made of synthetic or natural material. Figure 1 shows a bib formed with an opening (2) intended to close around the neck of a user, for example a child. A closure system (3), for example by adhesive, makes it possible to easily fix the bib around the neck.
The invention therefore offers quality protection thanks to the two layers used. In addition, the disposable nature of the bib avoids the cleaning task, which is essential for state-of-the-art bibs.

than.
Safety microperforations (4,5) extend from the outer contour of the bib to the edge of the opening (2). In a first version, the safety microperforations (4) are arranged transversely to the longitudinal axis of the bib, preferably perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bib as shown in FIG. 1 while a second version offers safety microperforations ( 5) parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bib as shown in Figure 2. By a light pull on the body of the bib, the safety microperforations (4,5) tear, allowing the body of the bib to be easily detached.
In an alternative embodiment illustrated in Figures 3 and 4, the bib has a solid body. Microperforations (8) delimit on the top of the bib a surface (9) detachable from the body so as to leave an opening of rounded shape intended to close around the neck by means of a closure system (3), for example by adhesive. This detachable surface (9) being detached from the bib, it can be used as an underglaze in order to deposit a bottle, a cup, a glass or any other object thus avoiding the staining of the object on which it rests.
Safety microperforations extend from the outer contour of the bib to the line of microperforations (8) which delimit the above-mentioned detachable surface. In a first version, the safety microperforations (6) are arranged transversely to the longitudinal axis of the bib, ideally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bib (Figure 3) while a second version offers microperforations.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
safety measures (7) parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bib (Figure 4). As described above, the microperforations (6) or (7) tear as a result of a pull on the body of the bib.
It is understood that the embodiments described in the foregoing are examples given by way of illustration and the invention is in no way limited to these examples. Any modification, any variant and any equivalent arrangement must be considered to be within the scope of the invention.
