<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>

The present invention relates to a self-propelled agricultural harvester whose speed can be determined by means of an adjustable traction motor, this self-propelled agricultural harvester comprising an inclined transport channel in which a pivoting inclined conveyor is arranged around an axis horizontal fixed located on the output side of the products, the inclined conveyor being composed of several transport chains with rotary control as well as a measuring device intended to determine the quantity of products of the crop passing through the machine.
In the case of known harvesters, the product intended to be threshed is conveyed by means of an inclined conveyor to the threshing device. This supply must be determined in such a way that on the one hand it makes it possible to reach a high flow rate and that on the other hand it nevertheless makes it possible to avoid blockages.
In the case of the harvester known by the German patent application DE-PS 11 99 039, the return pulley of the inclined conveyor located on the side of the product inlet and extending over the entire width of the channel of the inclined conveyor is used as a measuring device of a measuring system to determine the quantity of crop products passing through the machine. In the case of a high flow, this deflection pulley is raised, thus causing a widening of the gap between the lower feed compartment of the inclined conveyor and the bottom of the inclined transport channel. On one of the lateral parts of the frame of the inclined conveyor is fixed a pivot on which is arranged a lever of the filling device, so that the pivot follows the pivoting movement of the inclined conveyor.
Thanks to a shaft connected to the lever, a hydraulic control member is actuated, allowing the adjustable position disc of a continuously adjustable transmission of the traction motor to be adjusted so that when the deflection pulley is raised, located on the side of the product inlet and forming the measuring member, the traction speed of the harvester is reduced and that when the deflection pulley is lowered, this
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
same speed be increased.
As a rule, the inclined conveyor is equipped with three transport chains arranged at a distance from each other. The cutting width of a combine harvester, for example of a combine harvester, is several meters.
However, since the condition of the field is not always the same, this has the effect that the inclined transport channel is supplied with the crop product irregularly over its entire width. In the case of the harvester conforming to the German patent application DE-PS Il 99 039, the deflection pulley located on the side of the product inlet is also raised when a heap of product appears only in certain areas, that is, the heap is already detected when it extends over a small part of the width of the inclined transport channel. This has the consequence that the hydraulic control member is adjusted as if the heap of crop product extends over the entire width of the inclined transport channel.
In the case of the known harvester, the actual flow rate of the crop product is therefore determined, but a higher flow rate is simulated in the case of a partial pile. The speed of the harvester is thus reduced to a too low value, so that the yield of the harvester is also reduced in an equivalent manner.
The objective of the present invention is therefore to improve a harvester of the type described in more detail at the beginning, in such a way that in a simple constructive manner, the flow rate of the crop product in the inclined transport channel can be determined with more accuracy so that the overall yield of the harvester is increased.
This objective is achieved by the fact that each transport chain with rotary control of the inclined conveyor is assigned a spring feeler, together forming a measuring member, by the fact that the spring feeler is fixed by its other end to a shaft. for transmitting measurement signals arranged transversely
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
to the transport chains, and by the fact that the spring probes are dimensioned so that the angle of rotation of the transmission shaft of the measurement signals can be determined from the sum of the deflection movements of the individual transport.
Thanks to a configuration of this type, the deflection of each transport chain is used as a measurement value for the flow rate of the crop product. If a heap occurs in the area of a transport chain, only this transport chain is diverted. Contrary to the current state of the art, several measuring devices distributed over the entire width of the inclined transport channel are created, so that the total flow can essentially be determined with greater precision. Thanks to the elastic configuration of the sensors, they are constantly in contact with the transport chain assigned to them, so that no measurement jump occurs.
Since the spring-loaded probes are dimensioned in such a way that the pivoting movement of the probe caused by the deflection movement of the transport chain is not completely transmitted to the rotational movement of the transmission shaft of the measurement signals, it should be noted that the accumulation of the crop product extends only over part of the width of the inclined transport channel, or that, to express it more clearly, an average value is formed from the deviation of all transport chains, by a mechanical process directly at the measurement location.
For example, in the case of an inclined conveyor equipped with three transport chains, the transmission shaft of the measurement signals will undergo a rotation corresponding to only one third of the maximum angle of rotation, when a complete deflection of a transport chain occurs. The total angle of rotation of the transmission shaft of the measurement signals depends on the number of deviations and the value thereof.
Advantageously, each spring probe is equipped at its free end with a freely rotating caster, touching the transport chain, since this
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
reduces friction. In a simple and advantageous manner, the maximum deviation of the mobile end region of the probe can be changed when this spring-loaded probe is fixed on a support integral with the shaft for transmitting the measurement signals, so that the distance between the free end of the spring-loaded probe and the shaft for transmitting the measurement signals can be adjusted. The connection can be made by means of screws when, for example, the support is provided with a row of perforations.
Even in the normal position, the spring probes are under initial tension. Thus, a torque is exerted on the transmission shaft of the measurement signals. In order to avoid rotation, a return arm is fixed to the transmission shaft of the measurement signals, one end of a return spring being hooked to the return arm at a distance from the transmission shaft of the measurement signals and the opposite end of this return spring being hooked to a fixed support of the inclined transport channel.
According to another embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the rotational movement of the shaft for transmitting the measurement signals is transmitted to the lever of a potentiometer by means of a coupling. This coupling is constructed in two parts in a simple manner, so that the coupling piece fixed to the transmission shaft of the measurement signals also constitutes the return arm to which the return spring is hung. The output value of the potentiometer is used as the output quantity for the adjustment of the traction unit of the harvester.
Hereinafter, the invention should be explained in more detail with the aid of an exemplary embodiment and several figures schematically representing this exemplary embodiment. These figures represent respectively: FIG. 1: a side view of the inclined transport channel of a combine harvester, FIG. 2: a section along line II of FIG. 1 and
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Figure 3: a larger scale representation of the measurement system according to Figure 1.
A threshing table 2 comprising a rotary feed screw 3 is placed before an inclined transport channel 1 of a self-propelled combine represented schematically in FIG. 1. A threshing drum 4 and a concave 5 are placed after the inclined transport channel 1. In the inclined transport channel 1 is disposed an inclined conveyor 6 formed as a chain conveyor, this inclined conveyor being equipped with three transport chains 6a, 6b and 6c in the exemplary embodiment of the invention shown. The front chain wheel shaft on the side of the feed worm is designated by the reference number 6d and the chain wheels are designated by the reference number 6e.
The rear chain wheel shaft on the side of the threshing drum is designated by the reference number 6f and the chain wheels are designated by the reference number 6g. Transport slats 6h of angular cross section are fixed to the transport chains 6a, 6b and 6c transversely to these. The transport compartment of the inclined conveyor 6 moves parallel to and at a distance from the inclined bottom of the inclined transport channel 1. The inclined conveyor 6 can be pivoted on the horizontal rear chain shaft 6f. The front chain wheel shaft is loaded by a spring 7. In the central region of the two compartments of the inclined conveyor 6 are arranged spring feelers 8 of which only the feeler attached to the left transport chain 6a is shown in the figure 2.
Each spring feeler 8 is composed of a spring steel blade 9 which is screwed onto a flat steel segment 10 in the form of an arc and by a roller 11 which can rotate freely on the free end. The segment 10 is screwed onto a lug 12 welded to a sleeve 13, which is fixed on the transmission shaft of the measurement signals 14, the ends of which project outwards relative to the inclined transport channel 1. On the face left shown in Figure 2, a coupling rod 15 is fixed on the projecting end of the transmission shaft
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
measurement signals 14, the other end of the tie rod being connected to the lever of the potentiometer 16.
The tie rod 15 is made up of two parts. The part fixed to the transmission shaft of the measurement signals 14 is a return arm 17, to the end zone remote from the transmission shaft of the measurement signals 14 from which is fixed one end of a spring of return 18. The other end of the return spring 18 is fixed to a fixed support 19 of the inclined transport channel 1. In the end zone opposite the shaft for transmission of the measurement signals 14, the return arm 17 has several holes for fixing the return spring.
Thanks to this, the active lever arm as well as the initial tension of the return spring 18 can be changed. The second part of the tie rod 15 is a pivoting lever 20 by means of which the potentiometer is adjusted. The end of the pivoting lever 20 remote from the potentiometer 16 is introduced into a hole in a sleeve placed at the end of the return arm 17.
The roller 11 attached to each transport chain occupies a lower position and the spring 9 is slightly curved. If the crop product reaches the inclined transport channel 1, one or more transport chains 6a, 6b or 6c located above this channel are lifted according to the width of this bushel made from the crop product. Depending on the size of this heap, there follows a deviation and an uplift of the caster 11 accompanied by a greater simultaneous curvature of the spring 9. In FIG. 3 are illustrated two other heaps of the product of the crop of different size. The deflection of each of the transport chains 6a, 6b and 6c is represented by the position of the transport batten. The positions are designated by the reference numbers 6h 'and 6h ".
These positions of the transport batten 6h correspond to the positions 11 ′ and 11 "of the caster 11, as well as to the curvatures 9 ′ and 9" of the spring 9.
The greater the curvature of the spring 9, the greater the torque applied to the transmission shaft of the measurement signals 14. The spring characteristics
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
of all the springs 9 and the length thereof are adapted to each other so that a balance of the torques is adjusted by the return spring 18. As a result, the transmission shaft for the signals of measure 14 undergoes only one rotation corresponding to the maximum angle of rotation anticlockwise, in accordance with FIGS. 1 and 3, when, according to the embodiment of the invention, the three rollers 11 are subjected to a displacement corresponding to the maximum deviation of the transport chains 6a, 6b and 6c.
The angle of rotation of the shaft for transmitting the measurement signals 14 then corresponds exactly or almost exactly to the angle of rotation of all the rollers 11. In this case, the heap of the crop product would extend over the entire width of the inclined transport channel 1. If only one transport chain 6a, 6b or 6c respectively is rotated corresponding to the maximum angle of rotation by an accumulation of the crop product, the signal transmission shaft measure 14 undergoes only one rotation corresponding to one third of the maximum angle of rotation.
If two transport chains undergo a maximum rotation, the angle of rotation reaches two thirds of the maximum amplitude. If one or more transport chains undergo an deviation of an intermediate value, the angle of rotation of the transmission shaft of the measurement signals has a corresponding smaller amplitude. In the case where more than three transport chains are used, the proportional rotation angle of the transmission shaft of the measurement signals must obviously also have a corresponding smaller amplitude when deviating a transport chain, seen that it depends on the number of transport chains.
This results in the fact that the detection of the effective flow rate of the crop product in the inclined transport channel 1 is essentially more precise than in the case of a combine harvester conforming to the current state of the art.
In accordance with FIGS. 1 and 3, the lever 17 undergoes a rotation driven by the rotational movement of the shaft for transmitting the measurement signals 14. This pivoting movement is used to pivot the lever of the potentiometer.
In the context of the present invention, other solutions can obviously be
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
designed to transmit the rotational movement of the transmission shaft of the measurement signals to an appropriate evaluation device.
Instead of a spring 18, a brake could also be inserted on the shaft for transmitting the measurement signals, this brake producing the same effect as the spring.
