VENTILATION SYSTEM FOR TOILET BOWLS Several odor evacuation systems in toilets have been developed to date. Many of these systems have electric fans controlled by switches in the toilet, and still present some danger of electric shock.
Certain systems have pipes in the seats of the bowls, the cleaning of which is difficult and consequently results in an increase in the prices of these seats.
American patent 3,938,201 describes a ventilation system comprising a pipe molded in the ceramic of the bowl. This pipe is connected to a vertical dry column, which exits through the roof and is capped with an electric extractor.
This electric extractor is controlled by a switch placed near the toilet.
The pipe molded into the bowl has a first almost vertical upward section, a second semicircular section, situated in a horizontal plane and a downward vertical section which opens onto the rear of the bowl. A fitting connects the outlet to the dry column.
The extractor is necessary to ensure the evacuation of gases from the interior of the bowl to the open air.
The present patent describes a ventilation system for toilet bowls that does not require an electric extractor but ensures the evacuation of gases only by virtue of the temperature difference between the gases present inside the bowl and the environment.
In fact, when a person uses the bowl, the person completely obstructs the opening of the toilet seat and causes an increase in the temperature inside the bowl.
A relatively large pipe is molded into the back of the bowl. This pipe has an inlet opening provided slightly above the normal surface of the water in the bowl, is directed upwards and inclined by

vertical, and leads to the top and back of the bowl.
At this point, this gas evacuation pipe is connected to the vertical dry column which opens to the outside.
Following the increase in the temperature of the gases inside the bowl, these tend to rise in the pipe of the bowl and to exit by the dry column.
No extraction system is required.
Since the discharge pipe is almost straight and can be constructed with a relatively large diameter, without compromising the robustness of the bowl, cleaning is facilitated and a high degree of hygiene is ensured.
Referring to the figure, this represents a sectional view of a toilet bowl provided with a gas evacuation pipe.
The bowl (1) comprises a lower basin (2), a drain pipe (3) connected to the piping (4), a seat (5), a water tank (6) with the accessories and a pipe d gas evacuation (7).
The inlet opening (8) is located above the normal level of water (9) in the bowl. The outlet (10) is at the back of the bowl.
The pipe (7) between the inlet opening (8) and the outlet (10) rises at an angle of% 45 relative to the vertical.
The pipe is connected to an existing dry column (11), rising from the evacuation pipe (12) and leaving vertically from the building.
