<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Extension of qriffes for usual spacing claws in electrical installation devices"
The invention relates to claw extensions according to the preamble of claim 1.
The multitude of recessed installation devices customary on the market are each equipped with locking claws which are mounted laterally on the recessed element of the device and which can be separated by means of adjustment screws. against the internal walls of insulating boxes or against other built-in walls, for fixing the devices (see DE-A-40 28 766). For various reasons, for example built-in elements of devices mounted functionally deep in the mounting direction, or due to additional cladding of the walls with installation boxes deeply recessed for this reason, it is necessary to equip the built-in elements of appliances with longer prongs to ensure sufficient fixing of the built-in elements of the appliances.
For such cases, for example, DE-A-26 21 719 discloses a device for extending the usual claws. In this case, these are claws which are produced in a manifestly longer manner and which are also hooked via the claws already existing on the rod of an adjusting screw. In order to avoid, in the case of this modification of the fixing means, reciprocal prevention of the claws, the particularly long additional claws have a through opening through which the points of the existing claws are brought in when the long claws are hooked.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Despite the superimposed claws, a relatively tight application of the claws not spaced on the element to be embedded in the apparatus is thus obtained, so that assembly is possible without hindrance.
Starting from the prior state of the art according to DE-A-40 28 766, the object of the invention consists in developing for the known spacing claws an extension which, also as a fixing effect, leaves a reminder of existing brands.
This problem is solved by the characterizing features of claim 1.
Other details and particularities of the invention will emerge from the secondary claims and from the description of the drawings which are annexed to the present specification and which illustrate, by way of nonlimiting examples, a particular embodiment of the extension claws according to the invention.
Figure 1 is a partial section through a built-in element of an installation apparatus, with a representation of the usual claw in shape by connection with the claw extension.
Figure 2 shows the plan view according to Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a side view with a corresponding plan view of the claw extension.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in Figures 1 to 6. As can be seen in Figure 1, the usual spacer claw 1 can be moved apart by means of an adjusting screw 9 of the element to recessed from an appliance. For the reasons mentioned at the beginning, a claw extension 2 is mounted on the spacer claw 1.
Then the claw extension 2 has on the claw 1, in the direction of assembly, mounting guides 7 in the form of a U which surround the usual claw by a connection by the form (FIG. 2). In FIG. 1, it can also be seen that for easy mounting of the claw extension 2, it still has an inclined insertion part 3. As can be seen in FIG. 3, the claw extension 2 has an elastic element 5 which is adapted in its contour 4 ′ to the contour 4 of the existing claw 1. FIG. 4 shows the representation of the usual claw 1. FIG. 5 shows on the usual claw 1 the extension of claw 2 mounted. Then we can see how the contour 4 of the claw 1 corresponds to the contour 4 'of the claw extension 2.
In addition, one can perceive how the elastic element 5 hooks behind the claw tips 6 of the claw 1 (detail A, figure 6) and thereby prevents the removal of the claw extension 2 in the opposite direction to the mounting direction . In Figure 5 we can still see that the edges 11 of the claw extension 2 abut against the claw tips 6 and by this is prevented a withdrawal in the direction of assembly.
It should be understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described and that many modifications can be made to these without departing from the scope of the present invention.
