<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Conformément à l'invention, l'épaulement s'étend d'un bord longitudinal de la bande sur approximativement la demi largeur du segment externe de la bande de serrage, et l'extrémité interne de la bande de serrage s'étend jusqu'à une distance de l'épaulement qui correspond à la course de serrage, et présente, à côté de l'épaulement, un prolongement qui correspond approximativement à sa demi largeur et dont le bord extérieur s'étend à fleur de l'autre bord longitudinal, prolongement qui s'appuie, à côté de l'épaulement sur le segment externe non épaulé et qui présente une longueur supérieure à la distance de l'extrémité non prolongée de la bande de serrage à l'épau- liement, le dispositif ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

CLAMP FOR FLEXIBLE HOSE.
The invention relates to a hose clamp comprising a clamp with open ends, a device for the mechanical connection of the open ends of the overlapping band, an internal segment of band comprising retaining hooks and support which are oriented towards the outside and which can be engaged in corresponding openings made in the external strip segment as well as a clamping device arranged on the strip and intended for clamping of the clamping strip, said clamp collar being clampable by contraction of the clamping device, a shoulder projecting outwards and having a height corresponding to the thickness of the clamping strip being still provided at the inner end of the overlap zone.
Such hose clamps are for example known from document DE-30 17 662 or from document DE-30; 17 666. In the case of these clamps, an internal surface as continuous as possible is created, in order to obtain sealing in the case of flexible pipes made of synthetic material which are not very flexible and the like and in order to avoid any leakage. Such flexible pipes are for example used in industry
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
automotive to form axle sleeves and for fuel lines.
Starting from this state of the art, the object of the invention is to provide a hose clamp of the above-mentioned type, which also makes it possible, but in a different manner, to provide a secure seal with a slit-free transition. while ensuring easy assembly, without difficulty.
According to the invention, the shoulder extends from a longitudinal edge of the strip over approximately half the width of the external segment of the tightening strip, and the internal end of the tightening strip extends up to a distance from the shoulder which corresponds to the tightening stroke, and has, next to the shoulder, an extension which corresponds approximately to its half width and whose outer edge extends flush with the other longitudinal edge, extension which rests, next to the shoulder on the non-shouldered outer segment and which has a length greater than the distance from the non-extended end of the tightening band to the shoulder, the device;
clamping is also covered, on the inner side of the collar, by the inner end of the clamping band.
Thanks to this embodiment, the object of the invention is achieved. When the collar is tight, a slit may remain between the shoulder and the end of the inner band and as such could cause leakage; however, the extension of the inner band end
EMI2.1
is adjacent to it and provides sealing and seamless transition. At the end of the extension which rests on the end of the non-shouldered external strip, a shoulder is provided to which a non-shoulder zone of the external strip end is adjacent so that here also a secure sealing is provided and a continuous transition.
The clamping device which may consist for example of a clamping tube is covered over its entire width, on the radially internal side, by the end of the internal strip so as to
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
here also obtain a good seal and a contour without shoulders.
A preferred embodiment is characterized in that, in the non-tightened state of the clamp, the extension exceeds the distance separating the end of the non-extended strip from the shoulder by a length which is at least equal, preferably greater than the width of the extension, more particularly a length corresponding to 1.5 times the width of the extension.
According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the extension has a guide element extending radially outwards which engages in a longitudinal slot made in the outer end of the strip covering said extension, the length of the slot corresponding at least to the clamping stroke of the collar, preferably more than twice the latter.
Thanks to the arrangement of the longitudinal slot, on the one hand, it facilitates the formation of the shoulder in the outer strip part over a width which corresponds to the measurement between the outer longitudinal edge of the outer strip end and the longitudinal slot. On the other hand, the longitudinal slot and the guide tab projecting from the extension to engage in said longitudinal slot provide lateral guidance of the strip end with the extension of the internal strip end of: so that it cannot escape laterally during the tightening operation but maintains the correct desired position under the external strip.
Furthermore, the guide element consists of a tongue formed on the longitudinal edge of the extension and forming. protruding at right angles thereto, the tongue being arranged approximately in the middle of the width of the external end of the strip and engaging in the median longitudinal slot formed therein.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
According to a particularly preferred variant, the tongue is in the form of a hook and is oriented towards the front edge of the slot, which is adjacent to the external end of the strip.
Also it is possible to use the tongue as a hook when temporarily assembling the ends of the clamp.
In addition, the tightening device consists of a tightening eye, the base of which has folded parts with free lateral edges, which protrude from the internal end of the tightening strip.
By folding along the lateral edges of the base of the tightening eye, the base is reinforced so that undesirable deformation of the base is avoided when the collar is tightened. The folded side edges also reduce the risk of injury, as is the case with conventional necklaces which have sharp side edges.
In order to guarantee precise guidance of the end of the internal strip when the collar is tightened, it is possible to provide, instead of the guide element engaging in the longitudinal slot or in addition to it, a tongue or the like. , at the end of the internal strip and at the extension, tongue which acts laterally on the external edge of the strip part so as to guide it. In addition, it is also possible to insert an element which is intended to bridge the slot of the tightening eye and which has, at its lateral edges, extensions each time diametrically offset, shoulders being formed on both sides of the tightening eye over part of the width of the external strip. The desired tight bridging of the slot of the tightening eye is thus also ensured.
In this embodiment, the point of separation of the tightening strip can for example be arranged diametrically opposite the tightening eye, so that it would also be necessary to provide a shape therein in part.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
supported by one of the clamp band parts and a projecting part offset laterally to the other band part. These embodiments are similar to those described in document DE-30 17 667-C2. Such embodiments are expressly covered by the scope of the claims.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawings and described in more detail below.
In the figures: - Figure l: shows a hose clamp for unwound hoses; - Figure 2: shows the same collar in a side view, a partial section; - Figure 3: shows a clamp comprising a clamping band according to that of Figures 1 and 2, before tightening; - Figure 4: shows the collar of Figure 3 after tightening; and - Figure 5 is a plan view of a detail.
The hose clamp consists of a clamping band 1 with open ends, a device for the mechanical assembly of the open ends of band 1, which overlap, the ends comprising retention and support hooks 2,3 oriented towards the outside on a section of external strip 4, and engaging in corresponding openings 5 of the section of external strip 6, as well as in a clamping device 7 integral for clamping the clamping strip 1.
The collar can be tightened by tightening the tightening device 7 around a corresponding element 8, which is represented diagrammatically by a cross section but which, in reality, comprises a tubular member with sealing pipes made of synthetic material or the like . In addition, the internal end of the overlap zone has a shoulder having a height corresponding to the strip thickness, formed in the external strip part.
As can be seen in Figures 1 and 5, this shoulder 9 extends only over the
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
half the width of the outer band part 6, the inner band end 10 extending to a distance from the shoulder 9 which corresponds to the tightening stroke, insofar as the collar is not still tight, as shown in FIG. 3. This end of the strip 10 has an off-center extension 11 having a width corresponding to the half width of the strip and bearing laterally next to the shoulder 9 on the non-shouldered outer strip portion 6 The extension 11 has a length which is greater than the distance from the non-extended strip end 10 of the shoulder 9.
Preferably, the tightening device 7 is arranged so that it is oriented towards the inside of the collar and is covered by the internal strip part 4 including the end of the tightening strip 10. The extension 11 has a length which exceeds the distance from the non-extended strip end 10 to the shoulder 9, when the collar is not tightened, by a length at least
EMI6.1
equal, preferably greater than the width of the extension 11, which corresponds in particular to 1.5 times the width of the extension 11.
As a guide means, the extension 11 comprises a guide element 12 projecting radially outwards which is engaged in a longitudinal slot 13 of the outer strip part 6 covered from below by the extension 11, the length of the slot 13 has a length corresponding at least to the clamping stroke of the collar, preferably double that of it. In particular, the slot 13 extends from the proximity of the tightening device 7 over a major part of the length of the outer strip part 6.
The guide element 12 consists of a tongue folded at right angles to the lateral edge of the extension. Said tongue is arranged at least approximately in the middle of the width of the external strip part 6 and engages
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
in the median longitudinal slot 13. Preferably, the tongue 12 has the shape of a hook, the hook opening being oriented towards the front edge of the slot 13, which is adjacent to the end of the external strip 6.
The clamping device 7 preferably consists of an eye, the base 14 of which has folded parts 15 with free lateral edges, and which projects towards the side. tie of internal tightening band. The clamping position as shown in Figures 4 and 5 performs a first sealing, viewed in the axial direction of the clamping band, in area A of Figure 5. At this point, the free space between the end strip 10 and the shoulder 9 and varying according to the state of tightening is sealed by the extension (11) in the adjacent area.
In zone B, in particular at the free end of the extension ll, a projecting part has been formed, that is to say a possible vanishing point, which is opposite in axial orientation, to a plane sealing surface. from the end of the outer strip in zone C so that the desired sealing is obtained.
The invention is not limited to the embodiment described but extends to the framework defined in the claims and the specification.
All the new features described in the specification and / or the drawings, taken individually or in combination with one another, are considered essential for the invention.
