Abstract

The fixing for an exhaust silencer (10) comprises an elongated part (12) having anchoring zones (26A,26B) for attaching to the vehicle structure at each end. In its intermediate part is a zone (32) for fixing to the silencer and a ring (14) for fixing to the elongated part. The ring envelops the silencer and presses the elongated part fixing zone against the upper surface of the silencer. The elongated part comprises a bent metal tube having a U shaped fixing zone. The fixing zone comprises flattened sections (30) which are applied against the silencer upper surface. The fixing ring straddles the U shaped fixing zone extending transversely above the two side branches of the U.
