<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Method and elements for joining wooden walls together at an angle"
EMI1.1
------------------
Wooden building systems have acquired a special place in pre-fabrication. The main point is to achieve a rapid composition on the construction site of industrially prefabricated elements, which are standardized on the one hand and on the other hand are such that they can be assembled with a certain flexibility to meet the individualism of the owner, with his architects.
One of the main problems in this respect therefore remains the corner bond, more particularly the right angle bonding of two walls. Various solutions have already been applied, starting with screws, bolts and nuts, whether or not in collaboration with plates or T-profiles, the core of which is incorporated in the wooden beams that make up the wall. Solutions were also sought using cut-out steel profiles incorporated into the wooden beams. However, all of these existing solutions pose other problems, both in terms of manufacturing, as well as in the factory or on site.
The binding element, which is the object of the invention, allows both an easy fabrication and a quick construction of the wooden walls on the yards.
Furthermore, another object of the invention is the method of assembling and joining two wooden walls at an angle.
The connecting element according to the invention consists of a pleated round bar, characterized in that this bar consists of four parts, the two ends of which are perpendicular to the plane formed by the two middle parts which form an angle with each other, usually of 900, as
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
the walls to be erected and to be joined are perpendicular to each other.
Further details, features and advantages of the method according to the invention for connecting two wooden walls at an angle will become apparent from the description of a concrete example of such a method.
This description is further elucidated with the help of the attached figures, of which
Figure 1 is a schematic perspective drawing of the connection of two walls from wooden profiled beams.
Figure 2 is a section along plane AA 'of one of the bars shown in Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a section according to plane BB 'of the same beam as in Figure 2.
With a wooden construction, as shown in figure 1, beams (1, 1 '.., 2, 2' ...) are used to erect the walls, which are profiled in such a way that they are attached to the top of ribs or teeth. provided which correspond fully with respective slots on the bottom side, such that the beams can be assembled two by two.
When two walls are to be joined together to form an angle o (usually 900), the method according to the invention uses a binding element (3) according to the invention.
The binding element (3) consists of a curved rod whose ends (4) and (5) are perpendicular to the plane formed by the two middle parts (6) and (7) of the rod concerned (3), which are mutually angled d. shapes, which, as shown in Figure 1, is equal to 900.
In the method according to the invention for joining two wooden walls together, the ends of the profiled beams (1) and (2) to be joined together are provided with a tapping hole, of which the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
diameter and length correspond respectively to the diameter and length of the corresponding ends (4) and (5) of the binding element (3) according to the invention.
The respective ends of the profiled beams which are to be joined to each other in an angle-forming manner are provided with a groove integrated in the top, which extends from the relevant tap hole to the outer surface which comes into contact with the corresponding plane of the corresponding angle-forming beam. .
Figure 2 represents a cross-section of beam (1) at the level AA ', while Figure 3 represents a cross-section of beam (1) at the level BB', showing how the central slot concerned (as in Fig. 2) which has been used to assemble the beams (1, ...) into a wooden wall, which has been worked in more deeply to make way for a central part (6) of the binding element (3) according to the invention.
In the same way, the central slot of beam (2) at its end was worked in deeper with the necessary bend so that the rounded corner of central parts (6) and (7) of the binding element (3) can take full place in this slot.
In the method according to the invention for connecting two walls composed of profiled beams (1, 1 '..., 2, 2' ...) to a corner, a beam (1) is provided with an end with a deeper effect groove and with its cross-section placed against the longitudinal side of beam (2), so that both respective recessed slots of beam (1) and of beam (2) are aligned, so that the binding element (3) with respective ends (4) and (5) can be pushed transversely into the provided tapping holes of beams (1) and (2), while the central parts (6) and (7) take place in the respective deeper recessed slots of beams (1)
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
and (2),
which ensures the corner connection of beam (1) and (2), which are then anchored together by the landing of beams above it (1 "', 2"'). Both the elements, the beams (1, 1 '..., 2, 2' ...) and the binding elements (3) are finished in the workhouses, while the composition of the walls, into an angle-forming connection, without special tools , can be carried out very smoothly.
The method according to the invention for joining wooden walls of profiled beams to an angle is not bound to an angle of 900 nor to a type of profiled beam. It is sufficient that the used tap holes and slots are present in the beams used to allow the binding element according to the invention to be used.
The binding element according to the invention is also not limited in its dimensions. Both the length of each part of the binding element according to the invention and the angle formed by the two middle parts can vary.
The method according to the invention for joining composite walls from profiled beams to an angular shape is a particularly smooth and fast construction method which, among other things, is completely suitable for a kit building system.
