<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

IMPROVED GAS BOILER FOR WALL MOUNTING
OF THE TYPE WITH FORCED AIR CIRCULATION AND SEALING IN THE PREMISES FOR DOMESTIC USE
The present invention relates to an improvement to a gas boiler for wall mounting of the type with forced air circulation and sealing with respect to the room, which advantageously allows the boiler to be installed in rooms distant from the air inlet and where no chimney connection is available to evacuate the flue gases.
As is known, gas boilers for wall mounting of the type with forced air circulation and
EMI1.1
e tightness with respect to the room must receive their combustion air from the outside and must also e exhaust their burnt gases, which means that they cannot generally be installed very far from their air intake, taking into account the maximum permissible length for air supply and for combustion gas exhaust pipes, which is only around 3 meters.
This drawback implies that this type of boiler cannot be installed in interior premises distant from the exterior walls of the dwelling.
The present invention therefore aims to overcome this difficulty by proposing a gas boiler for wall mounting of the air circulation type and sealed relative to the room, which can be installed quickly.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
and easily in any room even if there is no connection to evacuate the burnt gases and / or if the boiler is moved away from the exterior walls of the house.
This result is achieved essentially by the forced circulation of the combustion air stream and the exhaust gas exhaust stream by means of a regenerative type compressor with toroidal chamber having a low capacity but a large delivery head so well that, if the boiler is installed near the exterior wall of the dwelling, small diameter and short length pipes can be used to transport the air and the burnt gases with the result that only one small hole in this wall, while if the boiler is installed at a great distance from this wall, one can use pipes of larger diameter or greater length.
As an additional advantage, the fact that a large delivery head is available again means that part of this head can be used to compensate for the pressure loss through the burner, which makes it possible to use high burners performance ensuring perfect combustion.
Consequently, the gas boiler for wall mounting of the type of forced air circulation and sealing with respect to the room for domestic use comprising in particular a burner supplied with combustion air by a sheath taking off outside air, a heat exchanger heat and a hood for evacuating the burnt gases from the boiler is characterized, in accordance with the present invention in that said combustion air is sucked by a compressor of the regenerative type with toroidal chamber from outside the room in which the boiler is installed through a first pipe connected to said air intake duct,
the compressor then delivering
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the burnt gases to the outside of said chamber where the installation is carried out by forcing this air through a second pipe connected to said hood and preferably positioned coaxially with the first pipe and inside of it, so that the burnt gases preheat the combustion air, which increases the efficiency of the boiler.
According to a variant of the present invention, this combustion air is not drawn from the outside but from the room itself where said
EMI3.1
he boiler is installed, with the result that the first pipe is no longer necessary and that only the second pipe is required to bring the burnt gases to the outside via said compressor
EMI3.2
regenerative with toroidal chamber.
According to preferred embodiments of the present invention, said compressor of the regenerative type with a toroidal chamber is installed in the upper part of the interior of the boiler, ie at the discharge of the burnt gases, so that it aspires to both the combustion air and the burnt gases from the top of the boiler and brings these burnt gases outside, ie at the inlet of the combustion air.
The invention will be described in more detail below with reference to the appended figures, which
EMI3.3
e represent preferred embodiments thereof by way of nonlimiting example only, since technical or construction modifications can be made without departing from the object of the present invention.
These figures are respectively:
Figure 1, a partially sectioned perspective view of a gas boiler for wall mounting with forced air circulation of the type sealed against the room for the production of hot water

intended for heating and the production of domestic sanitary water, installed in a room of the dwelling without connection to a chimney for the evacuation of burnt gases and at a distance from the exterior wall of the dwelling;
Figure 2 is a partially sectioned perspective view of a variant of the boiler for wall mounting of Figure 1 according to the present invention;
Figure 3 is a perspective view partially in section and on an enlarged scale of a preferred embodiment of the boiler for wall mounting according to the present invention.
In the figures, the reference number 1 designates an interior room without connection to the chimney for the burnt gases, distant from the exterior wall 2 of the house which has a window 3, while this wall is separated by another room 4 from the wall 5 to which is fixed, by means of support brackets not shown in the figure, a gas boiler for wall mounting of the type with forced air circulation and sealing with respect to room 6, for the production of hot water for provide heating and domestic hot water production.
In this boiler 6, which is equipped with a burner 7, a heat exchanger 8 and a hood 9 for the evacuation of the burnt gases, these parts are housed in a container 10 open at the bottom, contained in a housing 11 hermetically sealed from the room, the air required for combustion in the burner 7 being sucked in from outside the house by a long pipe 12 and by the air intake sheath 13 defined between said container 10 and said housing 11 hermetically closed, by means of a compressor 14 of the regenerative type with a toroidal chamber which is connected to this hood 9 of the boiler 6, that is to say at the top of
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
inside the boiler,
to the evacuation of the burnt gases in order to repress these burnt gases towards the outside of this house by forcing them through a pipe 15 arranged coaxially with respect to the pipe 12 and inside it. In this way, the burnt gases preheat the air entering against the current in the pipe 12, which increases the combustion efficiency.
In the variant shown in FIG. 2, the combustion air is sucked in by said regenerative compressor 14 with a toroidal chamber connected to said hood 9 from the room 1 proper where the boiler is mounted, by an air intake hole 16 disposed in the housing 11 and by the air intake sheath 13.
Finally, in the embodiment of FIG. 3, said regenerative compressor 14 has a toroidal chamber is connected, inside the boiler 6, to said supply pipe 12 for the air which is therefore forced towards the burner 7, the burnt gases being evacuated by a pipe 15 ′ starting from the top of said hood 9 but not necessarily coaxial with respect to pipe 12.
