Abstract

The saw has a drive unit, a feed unit (2), a coupling device (5) and connection devices (17, 18) for a saw chain or a circular saw blade. A drive shaft (7) passing through the feed unit (2) is mounted in a hollow shaft (8) and is connected at one end to a coupling shaft (16) in the coupling device (5) and at the other end to the drive unit. A fastening flange (13) having a guide plate (20) is fastened to the coupling device (5). This guide plate (20) carries the tongue or miscellaneous intermediate gearing. The entire coupling device (5) is detachably connected to the hollow shaft (8) via a clamping ring (29). The coupling device (5) with the attached tools is easily interchangeable. The hollow shaft (8) and the coupling device (5) with the elements fastened thereto can be pivoted independently of the rotating shafts (7, 16). Gearing for pivoting the hollow shaft (8) and gearing (46) which interacts with a toothed rack (44) for the feed are arranged in the feed unit (2).
