A granular additive for washing agents with brightening properties contains (A) 12.5 to 20 wt. % of a laminar silicate, (B) 52 to 65 wt. % of fine crystalline, synthetic zeolite (referred to the anhydrous substance), (C) 2 to 8 wt. % of sodium sulphate (referred to the anhydrous substance), (D) 1.5 to 8 wt. % of a sodium salt of a (meth)acrylic acid homopolymer or copolymer and (E) 0 to 30 wt. % of nonionic tensides from the class of polyglycol ethers, the difference from 100 % consisting of water.
