Addressing or similar printing machine with a setting roller in the
Lever head disengageable pressure louvers.
The invention relates to an addressing or similar printing machine with a disengageable pressure pad, in which an adjusting roller mounted in the head of the pressure lever is used to disengage the pressure pad. If such an addressing machine is provided with the device known per se for automatic step-by-step updating of a list to be printed by means of the printing templates passing through the machine, the disadvantage arises that the list is always updated when the pressure pad is disengaged Imprint of the printing stencil currently in the imprinting position takes place.
This disadvantage is completely eliminated by the invention, and the essence of the invention lies in the fact that the drive linkage for the device for indexing the list is under the influence of an adjustment and coupling device connected to the adjustment roller in the pressure pad head for the pressure pad that in the Rotation of the setting roller from the print position into the skip position, the drive of the list indexing device is automatically interrupted or the list drive is only then switched on. when an impression of the printing stencil arriving at the impression point has been made.
A particularly expedient embodiment of the invention is that in which the drive rod extending from the pressure lever for the indexing gear of the list-keeping device? in two

Part can be tubular. A coupling device is then attached to this part, which is engaged or actuated by adjusting rods controlled by the adjusting roller in the pressure lever head or the gear actuating the adjusting roller. is disengaged. Depending on the rotational position of the setting roller, the two parts of the drive rod are then rigidly connected to one another or can be moved against one another.
The coupling device advantageously consists of a coupling lever which is rotatably mounted on the tubular part of the drive rod and has a hook-shaped end and a switching lever which is rotatably fastened to the tubular part. The clutch lever consists of two parts pivotable about the same axis of rotation, of which the hook-shaped part intended to engage the other part of the drive rod is heavier than the other part, and between which parts a spring is interposed. This spring only comes into effect when the rear part of the clutch lever is prevented from rotating upwards about the common axis of rotation by the shift lever belonging to the adjustment linkage,
and presses the hook-shaped front part of the coupling lever into the recess provided in the rod-shaped part of the drive rod as soon as this recess and the hook-shaped end of the coupling lever are opposite one another.
Since the spring present in the coupling lever causes the coupling lever to snap into the coupling position in a very short time, the two parts of the drive rod of the list switching device are also coupled if the adjustment of the adjustment only takes place after the pressure lever begins to move downwards As is the case with a mailing machine with a releasable pressure pad, in which the rotation of the setting roller takes place automatically through the pressure plates on its way to its printing point.
In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of a mailing machine according to the invention are shown, insofar as this is necessary for an understanding of the invention. Fig. 1 shows a cross section of the machine with the pressure pad disengaged and. between the moment after delivery

gear of the pressure lever d, the toothed rack M? in the direction opposite to the arrow 58, but the tubular part u slides over the rod part t during the upward movement of the pressure lever il, as can be seen from the secondary figure la.
EMI3.2
Arrow 59 rotated and thus brought the setting roller 1 together with the pressure pad f in the Abrueklage. so does the rod move too? l in the direction of arrow 60, with the result that the switching lever 27 is turned into the position shown in Figs. 5, 6 and 7 opposite the sleeve u.
This has the effect that the transverse pin 31 of the shift lever 27 against the rear correspondingly shaped end 58'des

prevented.
When the pressure lever d is down, either the rack 1n is carried along in the direction of arrow 58, or when the rack? already drawn in Fig. la
EMI3.4
comes to stand opposite the recess 33, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7. If now, with the lever 52 pressed into the recess, an upward gear of the pressure lever d occurs, from
EMI3.5
thereby shifted in the direction opposite to arrow 58, which results in the list being updated by the desired amount.
This progression of the list takes place each time a print template is printed, i.e. H. as long as the
EMI3.6
1 takes place, the rod 21 pulls the shift lever 27 back into the position shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, and the front end of the coupling lever 52, 53 ′ falls out of the recess 33, see above that now with the next upward gear of the pressure lever cl the rack 1n is not taken, and thus the list remains. The list is therefore only continued after a printing template has been printed.
In the mailing machine shown in FIGS. 11-14, the device is on such

the rod t is carried along by the rod M in the direction of arrow 61 through the intermediary of the coupling lever 52, 53, which causes a progressive movement of the Za. hnsta. ngen m to the left. If during the upward movement of the lever the nose 'K has entered the recess 33 of the rod t, this nose remains. ? also in this position for so long. how a pressure in the direction of arrow 61 is exerted by the rod M.
So it does not matter that the rod u gradually pushes the switching lever 27 back into the position shown in FIG. 14 during the upward movement of the lever d, since the rack m is nevertheless carried along to the end position to be reached. As soon as, after reaching this end position, the pressure of the rod n in the direction of arrow 61 breaks up or the

release lever 52, 5. 3 down into the position shown in dotted lines in FIG. wa. s does not prevent the rack m from being carried along in the direction of arrow 58 to the right by the pin 55 on the tubular part u.
However, the rack m would only be taken along in the opposite direction during the upward movement of the pressure lever d if the following printing stencil was also used
