Axial thrust bearing with subdivided pressure surface.

It is known to subdivide the pressure surface in axial thrust bearings and to distribute the partial pressure surface onto support pieces which are set at an angle during operation so that the partial surfaces form an acute wedge angle with the sliding surface of the rotating machine part. As a result, the lubricant is rolled in between the surfaces sliding on each other and an increased load on the bearing is made possible.

In the known bearings of this type, the oil guidance in the bearing has not been taken into account and the lubricant emerging from the space between two sub-surfaces is unaffected and unhindered into the next space, which resulted in multiple defects.

According to the invention, these are eliminated in that guide and partition walls or strips are arranged between the support pieces containing the partial surfaces.

In the drawing, in FIGS. 1 and 2 or 3 and 4, axial thrust bearings with a subdivided pressure surface are shown in longitudinal and cross-section, for example. Fig. 5 shows schematically a particular arrangement of the support pieces in the store and Figs. 6, 7 and 8 show details to which reference is made later.

In the chamber of the bearing 1, which is closed by the cover 2, the abutment 3, which is fixed on the shaft 4, rotates. In the bearing body 1, which is provided with oil supply bores 5, the base plate 6, which supports the support pieces 7 containing the partial pressure surfaces, with the help of cutting edges 8 (Fig. 1) or spherical surfaces 9 (Fig. 2,6, 7.8) carries.
 EMI1.1
the bores 5 and the oil outlet from the collecting chamber 15 through interruptions in the circumferential boundary wall 11 and openings in the bearing body.
 EMI1.2
Asbestos, rubber, thin corrugated iron or the like. Be arranged. PATENT CLAIMS:
