Securing against rotation of the mutually adjustable shaft parts of valves, especially for internal combustion engines.
In valve controls in which the control shaft acts directly on the valve plate, the distance between the valve plate and the control cam is usually made adjustable in that the stem of the valve plate is screwed into the hollow stem of the valve body. The screw connection between these parts of the valve stem makes a safety device necessary, by which a rotation of the two parts against each other must be prevented. Both a rotation of the plate and a rotation of the mat must be prevented to prevent unintentional influencing of the
Exclude control by changing the distance between plate and control cam. The fuses used so far for this purpose are of a complicated nature.
The invention consists in that the valve spring is used as a securing member in that it engages in both parts of the valve stem. This has the advantage that the safety device is achieved with the means available on the control system and the weight of the valve is not increased by arranging special safety devices. so that the spring can be kept weaker and a too violent stop when closing the valve is avoided. However, this increases the service life of the valve.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is illustrated in FIGS. 1-4.
1 is the valve body, the shaft 2 of which is designed as a hollow body with an internal thread, into which the valve plate 4 is fitted with a screw spindle. 3 is screwed in, so that the distance between plate 4 and the cam 6 seated on the control shaft 5 can be changed and precisely adjusted. Parts 2 and 3 thus together form the actual valve stem. 7 is the valve spring. Such an arrangement cannot be used in practice without a fuse.
If the plate 4 and the valve stem 2 are not secured against rotation, there is a risk that the distance between the cam 6 and the plate 4 is changed by rotating these two parts against each other. In the exemplary embodiment of the drawing, the plate 4 is against Rotation secured by the valve spring 7, which is inserted with a hook-shaped bent end 9 in notches 8 of the plate 4 and is fastened with the other end 10 to an immovable part. In the exemplary embodiment of the drawing, the spring end jM is designed as a hook, which in the groove. 14 of a sleeve 11 is set. The sleeve 11 secures the shaft part 2 against rotation, u. between by square-shaped approaches resp.
Wedges M, which reach through corresponding recesses in the rigid valve guide 12 and bear against flat surfaces of the shaft part 2; this engagement also prevents the sleeve from rotating. As a result of the utilization of the valve spring ah fuse four the control, the valve guide 12 can be given a great length. The control can be readjusted or set in that the engagement between spring 7

winding of the spring tension can be solved.
