EMI1.3
Chrom, 2% Kupfer, 2% Molybdän. 2% Kobalt.

Acid-resistant chrome-copper-rich steel alloy.
So far, there is no known steel alloy that can be forged and rolled which is sufficiently resistant to the influence of sulfuric acid. Although high-percentage silicon steels are made, which have a limited resistance to certain acids, these are not rolled or forged.
EMI1.1
these steels are soluble in sulfuric acid.
The invention now relates to a steel alloy with additions of silicon, chromium and
EMI1.2
is completely insensitive to concentrated sulfuric acid and is very difficult to attack by dilute sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid. If the chromium content is high and the carbon content low (0-1-0-3% carbon), the alloy can be forged with care, rolled, worked like iron and hardened if the carbon content is high enough.
The present steel alloy contains: 2-7% silicon, 8-30% chromium and 1-500 copper, while the carbon content can vary between 0.1-1O. In addition, nickel and tungsten can be used to increase the resistance to hydrochloric and sulfuric acid. Molybdenum or cobalt can be added alone or in combination in a total amount of up to 6%.
EMI1.3
Chromium, 2% copper, 2% molybdenum. 2% cobalt.
