Instrumente. Bekanntlich verwendet man für billigere Arten von Brillen und Kneifem (Krankenkassenbrillen usw.) ein aus Pappe gefertigtes Steekfutteral. Diese Futterale haben jedoch den Nachteil, dass sie ihren Bestimmungszweek. die Blille usw. vor Schäden zu bewahren mIr unvollkommen erfüllen, weil die Pappe nicht steif genug ist. um genügenden Widerstand zu leisten. nannten Nachteile des Pappfutterals beseitigt sind. ohne dass die Herstellung des Futterals jene Kosten verursacht, welche die Herstellung eines Metallklappetuis erfordert.
Als weiterer Vorteil kommt noch hint,'. dass das neuartige Metallsteekfutteral bedeutend kleiner hergestellt werden kann als alle anderen Etuiarten. Der bisher bei Steckfutteralen infolge des Halsansatzes des einen Futteralteiles sich ergebende tote Raum kommt infolge der Eigenart der Konstruktion vollständig in Wegfall, so dass die Brille bzw. der Kneifer mit Futteral in der Westentasche bzw. im Zigarrenetui Aufnahme finden kann. Zu diesem Zwecke ist die eine Hälfte eines der beiden zusammen verbundenen, das Futteral bildenden, muldenartigen Teile schieberartig angesetzt. d. h. die Hälfte dieses Teiles kann vom anderen Teil heruntergeschoben werden, wodurch das Fntteral zur Aufnahme der Brille, des Kneifers od. dgl. offen ist.
