  Verfahren zur Darstellung von plastischen und elastischen Massen. 



   Es wurde gefunden, dass Zellulosebenzyläther wegen ihrer Wasserechtheit in hervorragendem   Masse   zur Herstellung von plastischen und elastischen   Massen, Lacken, Imprägnier-und Isoliermitteln.   Kitten, Klebemitteln, Harzen u. dgl. geeignet sind. Sie nehmen aus feuchter Luft und selbst beim Liegen im Wasser kein Wasser auf. So schützen sie als Lack   den lackierten Gegenstand vollkommen   vor dem Einfluss der Feuchtigkeit. Ein feucht- oder Nasswerden der lackierten Gegenstände mit seinen   schädlichen   Folgeerscheinungen ist daher ausgeschlossen. Ähulich wirken sie als Imprängnierungsmittel. Als Isoliermaterial kommt ihre Unempfindlichkeit gegen Wasser dadurch zum Ansdruck, dass sie in Gegenwart von Wasser nahezu die gleiche Isolierfähigkeit zeigen, wie in   trockenem   Zustande.

   Auch als besonders   wasserunempfindlicher Kitt.   als Klebemittel und Harz sind sie deshalb vorzüglich verwendbar. 



   Beispiel 1   : 3 Gewichtsteile Benzylzelluiose   und 1 Gewiehtsteil eines Öles (z. B. Leinöl,   Rieinusöl,   hochsiedende organische, aliphatische und aromatische Ester und Äther u. dgl.) werden mit

   Beispiel 2 : Ein Lack wird durch   Auflösen von 5 GewichtsteiIen Benzyl zellulose   in 100 Gewichtsteilen Benzol erhalten. Es können auch andere Lösungsmittel oder Gemische derselben mit oder ohne geeignete Zusätze bzw. andere Aralkyläther, wie Xylylzellulose, verwendet werden.

   It has been found that cellulose benzyl ether, because of its water fastness, is excellent for the production of plastic and elastic compositions, varnishes, impregnating and insulating agents. Putties, adhesives, resins, etc. Like. Are suitable. They do not absorb any water from moist air or even when lying in the water. As a paint, they completely protect the painted object from the influence of moisture. A damp or wet becoming of the painted objects with its harmful consequences is therefore excluded. Similarly, they act as impregnation agents. As an insulating material, their insensitivity to water comes from the fact that they show almost the same insulating properties in the presence of water as in a dry state.

   Also as a particularly water-resistant putty. They are therefore eminently useful as adhesives and resins.
