Roller for the inking rollers, broken bars.
The invention relates to rollers for the inking rollers of printing presses, the running surface of which is formed by an elastic race that expands radially evenly when compressed axially, so that the diameter of the roller can also be changed by changing this pressure.
The previous resilient rollers consisted of obliquely split rings or of resilient ones

not continuous and smooth, which means that such rollers were not very suitable for the fine work of the inking rollers of printing presses.
According to the invention, this deficiency is countered by the fact that the raceway is made of rubber or a similar flexible material, which means that the raceway can be expanded and narrowed, but its surface always remains continuous and smooth.
An exemplary embodiment is illustrated in the drawing; Fig. 1 is an end view of an inking roller with a caster, Fig. 2 is an axial section, and Fig. 3 is an end view thereof as seen from the opposite side.
The inking roller 2 sits on an axle 5 which is carried at its ends by rollers 6 which, as usual, run on guides on both sides of the mold. According to the invention, the running surface 61 of the rollers is formed by a ring 7 made of a flexible material such as rubber. The ring sits on a metal sleeve 8, which carries a flange 9 on one side of the ring 7 and a loose metal washer 10 on the other, which is pressed more or less forcefully against the side of the ring 7 by means of a nut 11 screwed onto the sleeve 8 can. The sides of the plates 9 and 10 facing the ring y are designed to be flat, conical.
The sleeve 8 has at its end provided with a spindle thread: a recess 12 for fastening on the axle and at the other end a hole 15. The nut 11 has on the outer circumference from

Mother 1 tightened, causing the yielding ring? is axially compressed between the plates 9 and 10 and expanded radially, so that the diameter of the running surface increases. As a result, the associated inking roller is removed from the mold and its pressure on the mold is reduced. However, the circumference 61 of the roller remains completely smooth and round, so that unevenness of the inking is avoided.
