einer Zerstäubung fähig ist. Das heisse Gas wird durch den verhältnismässig kalten Teer abgekühlt, u. zw. so weit, dass eine Kondensation des Wasserdampfes nicht stattfindet. Sind die zu reinigenden Gase z. B. mit einer Temperatur von etwa 200-300 C in den Ausscheider eingetreten, so erwärmt sich der in denselben gleichzeitig eingeführte Dickteer auf etwa 80-100 und wird dadurch so dünnflüssig, dass eine Inkrustation nicht eintritt.
Der eingespritzte, auf diese Weise verdünnte Dickteer vollzieht also doppelte Arbeit, nämlich einerseits Abkühlung des Gases von hoher Temperatur, anderseits Aufnahme des in demselben enthaltenden Teers, u. zw. ohne Verdampfung leichter Kohlenwasserstoffe und ohne Kondensation des Wasserdampfes, so dass wasserfreier bzw. wasserarmer Teer gewonnen wird. Ausserdem wird durch die heissen Gase der Dickteer vorgewärmt, wozu man bei den oben erwähnten Verfahren besondere Teervorwänner nötig hatte. Da bei dem vorliegenden Verfahren die Ausscheidung des Teers nur in einem einzigen Apparat vor sich geht, erhält man ein einheitliches Teerprodukt, wobei nur eine einzige Teersammelstelle vorhanden ist.
