Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Process for the production of a permanently moist, non-toxic fly paper using quassia wood extract.
According to the method according to the invention, crushed quassia wood is digested in dilute glycerine and strong unsized paper is soaked with the liquid which has been separated off.
Compared to the properties and manufacturing methods of the previously known non-toxic fly papers, the present manufacturing process differs in that the crushed quassia wood is neither boiled nor treated with alcohol, but the bitter substances of the same are extracted by glycerine, due to the great dissolving power of the latter. Another essential distinguishing feature of the present method compared to the previously known method is that the paper soaked with the liquid obtained according to the above procedure remains permanently moist due to the hygroscopic property of the glycerine used and the fly paper does not have to be moistened before use.
