Method of weighing silk.
The subject of the present invention is a method of weighing silk, with the help of which it is possible to prevent the fiber from being too strongly attacked by the weighting baths.
The procedure consists in treating the silk with alkaloids before or during the treatment with the known aggravating agents. Alkaloids have the property of being easier to break down than the fibroin of silk fibers, so that the latter can no longer be attacked by oxygen or oxygen carriers. For example, weighted silk that was treated with alkaloids before or during the aggravation showed up to 50% greater tensile strength after dyeing than weighted silk of the same kind, which, without having been treated with alkaloids, weighted down in the same way and was colored.
As for the treatment of silk with alkaloids before making it difficult, it can be treated with alkaloids in a boiled or raw state and then, in a known manner, B. complicate after the tin phosphate silicate process, where you can repeat the alkaloid treatment. However, one can also proceed in such a way that the treatment with alkaloids is carried out before the silk treated with tin and phosphate salts in a known manner is treated with water glass. So you can treat with alkaloids even during the aggravation, so z. B. before the known water glass treatment.
In general, all alkaloids or their salts are suitable, provided that they can only be dissolved, e.g. B. betaine, cinehonine, cinchonidine. Theobromine, caffeine, emetine, pilocarpine, papaverine and the like like
Examples:
EMI1.1
Cinchonine chloride or betaine treated. Then the silk is thrown and made difficult in a known manner, for. B. according to the tin phosphate silicate process.
2. 100 kg of silk are z. B. treated in a known manner with tin and phosphate salts and treated with 500 l of an aqueous solution of 2 to g of theobrominech lorhydra before the known treatment with water glass solution.
Treatment with alkaloids can take place before or during the aggravation.
3. 100 kg of silk are treated with a solution which contains 1 liter of hydrochloric acid or formic acid or 21 acetic acid and 5 kg of caffeine, emetine, papaverine or the same amount of another alkaloid in 500 liters of water.
