Water inlet device for water wheels.
The invention relates to a further embodiment of the invention protected by patent no. 84396 and essentially consists in the fact that the free-standing hollow column carrying the waterwheel channel, through which the inlet to the waterwheel channel takes place, is provided with a second shaft that connects the waterwheel channel with the The outlet of the headwater connects, its mouth in the water wheel channel being separated from the water inlet by an adjustable gate, so that the excess headwater flows into the outlet. This device relieves the channel of the excess amount of water and only the amount of water that is required to operate the waterwheel flows from the channel in the free space, which alleviates the annoying roar of the falling water masses.
In the drawing, the device according to the invention is shown schematically in an exemplary embodiment, namely Fig. I shows the device in vertical section with the lower part in view and Fig. 2 in horizontal section along the line A-B of Fig. I,
A second shaft 6 is built into the free-standing hollow column 1, through whose shaft 2, which is in connection with the water inlet pipe 3, the inflow of the service water into the water channel 4 takes place. The mouth 7 of the shaft 6 is separated in the channel 4 from the water inlet by an adjustable gate 8.
In the exemplary embodiment shown, a wall 9 is attached in the channel 4, against which a second wall 10 that can be raised and lowered by means of a winch or a screw spindle or the like rests. The excess water will flow off via this barrier wall and pass through the. Channel 6 of column 1 and through the connection opening 11 into the low collecting shaft 12 and from there in the direction of arrow a through a pipe 13 or a channel into the underwater trench.
