Rivetable concrete body.
The recently increased use of concrete and reinforced concrete instead of iron and wood for buildings and constructions of all kinds is closely linked to the question of the connection of the construction parts made of concrete with each other or the fixing of those made of other material to the concrete. Up to now, it has been the principle that only screws can be used as connection and fastening means on concrete, similar to cast iron. The advantages that can be achieved by riveting had to be dispensed with, since the pressures that occur during hot riveting as a result of the rivet contraction, on which the favorable effect of the rivet is based, result in the destruction of the concrete adjacent to the rivet. The invention aims to make the concrete rivetable and thereby open up a further field of application in buildings and structures of all kinds.
The purpose of the invention is achieved in that rivet sleeves made of suitable material (e.g. mild iron or cast steel) are concreted in at the relevant connection points, which on the one hand absorb the rivet stresses mentioned, which are harmful to the concrete, and on the other hand by correspondingly enlarging the contact area between iron and concrete Reduce the perforated wall pressure transferred by the rivet to such an extent that the permissible stress on the concrete is not exceeded. The shape of the rivet sleeves is chosen so that they are completely secured against being torn out of the concrete.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is illustrated using two exemplary embodiments. FIGS. I and 2 show the riveting point in section, FIG. 3 the rivet with the rivet sleeve in horizontal section.
In the concrete body 1 is a rivet sleeve. e concreted in, the bore of which receives the rivet 3. The rivet sleeve has recesses 4 of any shape, which allow anchoring in the concrete body and prevent it from being torn out of it. The structural part to be connected with concrete (e.g. a sheet metal) is denoted by 5. In the case of containers made of reinforced concrete, which require a sealing coating, the advantages that can be achieved with the subject matter of the invention are increased by the fact that the difficulties of a reliable seal, which are unavoidable with screw connections, are automatically eliminated. In the present case, it is not necessary to lead the sealing coating 6 over the rivet head (FIG. I), since the rivet itself closes tightly.
While with screws, the nuts of which often have to be arranged on the inner wall of the container, a reliable seal at the screw point is hardly possible, the subject matter of the invention even offers the possibility of a double seal if the inner rivet head is arranged countersunk (Fig. 2 ). The seal is then effected both by the rivet itself and by the coating, which in this case can run smoothly over the rivet point.
There is therefore no need for any interruption in the sealing coating.
It goes without saying that the rivet sleeves can optionally be combined into groups, or that one sleeve can accommodate several rivet bolts.
If the advantages that can be achieved with the subject matter of the invention also mainly come into play with hot riveting, certain advantages are offered by the corresponding design, even when using screws, compared to the previous practice.
PATBNT CLAIMS: I. Rivetable concrete body, characterized by the rivet sleeves concreted in at the riveting points, the bore for the rivet, which absorb the pressures occurring as a result of the rivet tightening and thereby protect the concrete from destruction.
