Device for bending sheet metal at angles.
The invention, which relates to a device for bending sheet metal at angles by means of two clamping jaws and a tiltable bending rail, is located in that the two clamping jaws and the bending line can be moved longitudinally in their bearings or the bearings can be adjusted relative to one another in such a way that the bearing spacing and thus the effective one

Sheet metal can be changed for the purpose of securely holding the same.
The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely FIG. 1 shows a vertical cross section through the device, FIG. 2 shows its front view and FIG. G shows the plan view of one end of the same.
The two clamping jaws a, b arranged next to one another have the shape of rails and rest with their ends in an angular bearing c and d. The clamping jaws a, b are longitudinally displaceable in the bearings c, il and secured against transverse displacement by a projection e or f provided on the bearing c or d, which is inserted into a continuous longitudinal groove g or k of the clamping jaw a or, b intervenes. With the help of an adjusting screw i, the clamping jaw b can be moved in the horizontal direction and can thereby be moved closer to or removed from the clamping jaw a in order to adapt the width of the gap between the two clamping jaws to the thickness of the sheet to be bent.
The bearing d rests on an adjusting screw k and can be adjusted in height along a vertical dovetail guide m in order to set the head surface of the clamping jaw b more or less deep in relation to the head surface of the clamping jaw a depending on the thickness of the sheet to be bent to be able to.
Each end of the bending rail n is supported by a circular ring o which is concentric to the apex of the angle to be bent and which is designed as a pivot and is rotatably mounted in the bearing p. The rail n is mounted to be longitudinally displaceable in the rings o, but is prevented from shifting transversely by projections r provided on these rings, which engage in continuous longitudinal grooves s of the rail n, the ends of the
Rail n are each with a square t for attaching a hand lever and with a
Provide threaded shoulder M for screwing on a nut securing the hand lever. The bearings c, d at each end of the device are carried by the adjoining bearing p and can be moved with this along the rails a, b, n.
The bearings c, d, p at one end of the device are therefore adjustable relative to the bearings at the other end of the device in order to change the bearing spacing and thus the effective length of the rails a, b, n depending on the length of the sheet to be bent can, whereby a firm clamping of the sheet is achieved.
As a result of the large friction surface between the pivot o and its bearing p, the specific journal friction is reduced and the journal or its bearing is protected.
