   Die Herstellung von Kondensationsprodukten aus Holzteer und. Formaldehyd ist bekannt. 



   Es ist aber bisher unbekannt, dass auch Steinkohlenteer bei entsprechender Behandlung'mit Formaldehyd Kondensationsprodukte gibt, die hellbraune, geruchlose Pulver darstellen, welche die therapeutisch wertvollen Eigenschaften des Steinkohlenteers besitzen. 



   Diese neuen Produkte sind in Alkali, Seife und Alkohol löslich. 



   Das neue Verfahren besteht darin, dass Steinkohlenteer mit Formalin oder Paraformaldehyd zweckmässig in Gegenwart eines Kondensationsmittels, wie H Cl oder Alkalilauge erwärmt wird, bis die Masse zähflüssig wird und beim Erkalten erstarrt. Durch Auflösen in Natronlauge und Ausfällen mit Salzsäure wird das Produkt gereinigt und in zarten hellbraunen Flocken erhalten,   Beispiel li
