Dephlegmator, especially for mash distillers.
The subject matter of the invention is a dephlegmator or surface cooler, through which the spirit dampers flowing out of the mash boiler are precondensed.
For this purpose there is the dephlegmator. A wide jacket in which a number of slightly curved, internally tinned cooling elements, two of which are connected to one another at the edge, are arranged, through the interior of which the alcohol vapors are conducted. The outer surface of the cooling elements is coated with cold water so that the hot spirit vapors condense on the inner surfaces of the elements.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is illustrated, for example, in a vertical center section through the dephlegmator.
The dephlegmator consists of a wide jacket a, inside which a number of lens-shaped cooling elements x are arranged over one another. Each element x consists of two arched, thin sheet metal bases that are tightly riveted to one another at the edge and are tin-plated on the inside b. The individual elements are held one above the other by rings h and their interiors are connected to one another by pipe sockets d. In the cavities g, which have a large surface area over a small volume, guide walls c are arranged - d: e are held by claws c ', and which force the rising spirit vapors to coat the entire inner surface of the cooling elements.
On the outer surface of the cooling elements x, cold water circulates, which enters at y and is drained off at z, through guide walls e, which are held by supports f.
This arrangement gives the alcohol vapors the opportunity to expand and condense gradually in each cavity g, as a result of which a rich precipitate (Lutter) is achieved, which is passed through the concentric rings r separately from the rising vapors onto the partition wall c, on the same spreading comes into contact with the rising vapors and trickles over the wheels onto the inner surface of the cooling element x in order to get through the concentric rings f into the next lower cooling element, while the rising vapors pass through the central pipe sockets protruding into the cooling elements x Pull d into the next higher cooling element x.
In this way, on the one hand, the cooling water is used in countercurrent by the outer guide rings e, on the other hand, the rising alcohol vapors hitting the inner partition c are distributed and precipitated, whereby a product that is as lint-free and high-percentage as possible is achieved.
