   Um bei   Pilgerschrittwalzwerken das Werkstück   immer genau in die Mitte des Kalibers bringen zu können, auch wenn dieses wechselt, wird gemäss vorliegender Erfindung nicht wie bisher die Stellung der Walzen in ihrem Gestell verändert, sondern der   Werkstückvorholer   hebund senkbar angeordnet. 



   Auf der Zeichnung ist eine derartige Einstellvorrichtung in einem   Ausführungsbeispiel   dargestellt. 



   Der Pilgerscblitten a, auf dem sich der   Werkstückvorholer   beliebiger Bauart befindet, ist kastenförmig gestaltet und bildet die Führung für einen in der Höhe verstellbaren zweiten   Schlitten b, der den Vorholer trägt. 



  In dem Pilgerschlitten sind Teilflächen c vorgesehen, auf denen Keilstücke d gleiten, die   die Muttern für eine an dem Schlitten b drehbar, aber unverschiebbar gelagerte Schraubenspindel e bilden. 



   Auf den Keilstücken d ruht der Schlitten b. 



   Durch Drehen der Spindel e werden die Keilstücke d einander genähert oder voneinander entfernt und dadurch der Schlitten b gehoben oder gesenkt. 



    Auf diese Weise kann der Vorholer mit dem Werkstück genau auf die Mitte der Walzen eingestellt werden, auch wenn Walzen verschiedenen Durchmessers zur Anwendung kommen.   



  Die genaue Einstellung auf Walzmitte ist aber erforderlich, um den Walzprozess überhaupt durchführen zu   können.   



   Eine Veränderung der Stellung der Walzen in ihrem Gestell, namentlich die bisher übliche Verstellung der Unterwalze, ist dadurch entbehrlich'
Die Walzenlagerung und deren Antrieb wird dadurch einfacher und stabiler. 



   Die auf der Zeichnung dargestellte Anordnung der   Keilfachell c,   bei der diese nach ent-   gegengesetzten Richtungen   geneigt sind, hat den Vorteil, dass die beim Walzen auftretenden Kräfte gut aufgenommen werden.
