   Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Dichtungsringen, und zwar auf die Benutzung von Abfallmaterial, insbesondere Leder oder dgl. für diesen Zweck. 



   Gemäss der Erfindung sollen aus diesem Abfallmaterial hergestellte Scheiben oder Plättchen lose auf einer der gewünschten Form des Dichtungselementes entsprechenden Seele aufgesteckt werden, um hierauf durch Flachpressen fest aufeinanderzuliegen und auf diese Weise ein festes, Dampf, Feuchtigkeit, Gase oder dgl. undurchlässiges Gefüge zu bilden. 



   In der Zeichnung sind die wesentlichen Stadien des Arbeitsverfahrens an einem her- zustellenden Dichtungsringe veranschaulicht. Die aus Materialabfall, beispielsweise Leder, her- gestellten Scheiben oder Plättchen b werden lose auf eine vorteilhaft aus Draht   bestthende   Seele a aufgesteckt (Fig. 1 und 2). Ist damit die Grundform des herzustellenden Dichtungsringes gegeben, so wird derselbe in der Richtung gepresst, welche zur Ringebene senkrecht ist, was einer Ab- fachung der Ringe gleichkommt (Fig. 3 und 4). 



   Die Scheiben oder Plättchen b liegen dann fest gepresst aneinander ; sie bilden zusammen ein einheitliches, festes Gefüge, das gegebenenfalls notwendiger Nachbearbeitung unterworfen werden kann.
