Geradführung für Catterrahmen.
Bei den Geradfuhrungen der Sägegatter hat sich Eisen auf Eisen sehr schlecht bewährt ; man hat deshalb die Gleitklötze schon aus Rotguss, Weissmetall und neuerdings meist aus Hirnholz gemacht. Diese Anordnung gilt als die zurzeit beste, ist aber von der Vollkommenheit noch weit entfernt. Zu beklagen ist insbesondere der schnelle Verschleiss.
Gemäss der vorliegenden Erfindung sollen die Gleitklötze aus Vulkanfiber hergestellt werden, welches Material sich bei der praktischen Erprobung als vorzüglich geeignet erwiesen hat. Es hat vor dem Hirnholz das Fehlen einer bestimmten Faserrichtung voraus, womit die Möglichkeit des Spaltens und Absplittcrns entfällt. Die Abnutzung ist nach den bei den Versuchen gemachten Erfahrungen sehr gering ; mit der Notwendigkeit häufigen Nachspannens entfällt also die Möglichkeit des Verspannens des Gatterrahmens.
