<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The invention relates to a drawer with a vertically mounted front panel, which is raised when the drawer is pulled out of a furniture body and lowered when the drawer is pushed into the furniture body.
In particular, the invention relates to a so-called base drawer, which is arranged in the base region of a cabinet. The drawer cover should be flush with the floor if possible. When opening the drawer, however, the panel should be raised so that it does not rub against the floor and leaves visible traces of grinding over time. In addition, heavily loaded drawers lower when they are pulled out in the front area. In this case too, the panel should not be streaked on the floor.
A drawer is known from German utility model DE 201 20 242 U1, which is provided with a height-adjustable panel. The cover is acted upon by a spring that has to be tensioned each time the drawer is closed. This tensioning of the spring requires a relatively large amount of energy.
The object of the invention is to provide a drawer of the type mentioned in the introduction, in which the cover can be removed without energy and in which even when the drawer is pulled out, the cover does not require much energy.
The object according to the invention is achieved by at least one path-dependent controlled lock, which holds the front panel in a raised position when the drawer is pulled out.
It is advantageously provided that the front panel is articulated on the drawer by means of a tiltable lever.
An embodiment of the invention provides that the drawer is provided with a pull-in device which pulls the drawer into the rearmost insertion position. According to the invention, this insertion movement is supported by the front panel, since during the insertion movement of the drawer in the rear area, when the pin is in the guideway, a component of the potential energy of the lowering front panel acts on the drawer in the insertion direction.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the figures in the accompanying drawings. Show it:

15 shows a pull-out guide set for guiding the drawer according to the invention.
The drawer 1 according to the invention, which is designed as a base drawer, is arranged in the furniture immediately above the floor 2. It has an upper longer area 3 and a lower shorter area 4. The upper area 3 has a rigidly arranged diaphragm
5 provided.
The lower region 4 is covered at the front by a vertically moveable panel 6, which is arranged offset to the rear in the insertion direction of the drawer 1 compared to the upper panel 5.
The drawer 1 is slidably mounted in the furniture by means of a pull-out guide set 30.
The pull-out guide set 30 comprises on each side of the drawer 1 a support rail 31 fastened to a side wall of a furniture, a pull-out rail 33 fastened to the drawer 1 and a middle rail 32 arranged in between pulls the fully retracted position, and a damper 35 which dampens the retraction of the drawer 1. The damper 35 is preferably designed as a fluid damper. Both a linear damper, as shown in FIG. 15, and a rotary damper can be used. Such a pull-in device 34 with a damper 35 is described in German utility model DE 202 18 067 U.
The lower panel 6 is held on each side of the drawer 1 by means of a holding device 20. Each holding device 20 has a tiltable lever 7, on which the front panel 6 is held via a holding part 8. The holding parts 8 are tiltably mounted on the levers 7. The levers 7 are mounted on axes 9 on a holding plate 18 of the holding device 20 and thus on the drawer 1.
The levers 7 are designed as two-armed levers and form the actuating levers for lifting the front panel 6.
Each lever 7 has a pin 11 which is guided in a fixed guide track 12 in the rear insertion region of the drawer. In the exemplary embodiment, the curved guideway 12 is designed as a groove in a plate-shaped control part 13. The control part 13 is attached to the body, for example, on the mounting rail of a pull-out guide set attached to the furniture body or directly on a side wall of the furniture.
If the drawer is closed, the lower front panel 6 is lowered and closes with the floor 2 (Fig. 1, 7 and 11).
If the drawer 1 is pulled out of the furniture body, the pin 11 travels upwards in the guide track 12, the lever 7 is pushed up and tilted, as a result of which the front panel 6 is raised.
Both when pulling out and when inserting the drawer 1, the front panel 6 is carried without contact above the floor 2, i. H. that neither the front panel 6 nor a part fastened to the front panel 6, for example a roller, touches the floor 2. This contributes to the greatest possible protection of the soil 2.
Each lever 7 is designed as a double-armed lever with a lever arm 7 'to which the front panel 6 is articulated and a lever arm 7 ". Below the holding part 8 there is a horizontally displaceable block 10, which acts as a lock for the lever 7 and thus serves for the front panel 6 when the front panel 6 is in the raised position. The block 10 has an oblique stop surface 15 for the lever arm 7 ″ and is acted upon by a spring 14. The block 10 also has a stop pin 16 which bears on a body-side stop 17 when the drawer is closed.
If the drawer 1 is opened, as shown in FIG. 5, the guide pin 11 of the lever 7 moves upward in the guide track 12 and the front panel 6 is raised. At the same time, there is a relative movement between the block 10 and the support plate 18 of the holding device 20. The drawer 1 is moved outwards and the spring 14 pulls the block to the stop 17, the block 10 being stationary with respect to the furniture body, however, moves relative to the support plate 18 and the lever 7, whereby it comes to rest under the lever arm 7 ".
If the drawer 1 is pulled out of the furniture body so far that the pin 11 leaves the guideway 12, the lever arm 7 ″ is supported with its tip on the stop surface 15 of the block 10 and thereby prevents the panel 6 from being pressed down by its own weight So that the block 10 does not unintentionally relative to the when the drawer 1 is pulled out
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Lever arm 7 "is moved, this is provided at its tip with a corrugation 19.
To stabilize the holding device, the pin 11 is guided in a guideway 21 and the holding part 8 has a pin 22 which is guided in a guideway 23. The guide tracks 21, 23 are formed by arcuate slots in the holding plate 18.
If the drawer 1 is pushed into the furniture body, the pin 11 engages again in the guideway 12. At the same time, the pin 16 of the block 10 strikes the body-side stop 17, i. H. the block 10 is held and the lever arm 7 "is moved away from the block 10, to the right in FIGS. 4 to 6. As a result, the lever 7 can be tilted counterclockwise and the front panel 6 is lowered.
Fig. 7 shows a light or empty drawer 1 in the retracted position and Fig. 8 shows the same drawer 1 in the extended position. FIG. 9 shows a heavy or fully loaded drawer 1 in the inserted position and FIG. 10 shows the heavy drawer 1 in the extended position. As can be seen in particular from the comparison of FIGS. 8 and 10, the front panel 6 is moved higher upwards with a heavier drawer 1 relative to the drawer 1. This is due to the fact that the vertical movement of the front panel 6 is determined by the guideway 12, which is arranged on the body side and whose position is independent of whether the drawer 1 is further offset by the weight of the load or not.
11 and 12 show the situation of the front panel 6 and the panel attachment when a drawer 1 is inserted into the furniture body and the pin 11 of the lever 7 enters the guideway 12. 11 shows the situation when the drawer 1 has been pulled out of the furniture body empty or only lightly loaded and is closed when it is heavily loaded.
The front panel 6 is only slightly raised relative to the holding device 20, the pin 11 abuts the front edge of the lower wall 24 of the guide groove 12 and is guided along this wall 24 into the guide groove 12. The lever arm 7 "is moved to the right and leaves the block 10 after its pin 16 abuts the stop 17. The lever 7 is tilted counterclockwise and the front panel 6 is lowered.
FIG. 12 shows the example of a drawer 1 which has been pulled out of the furniture body fully or heavily loaded and is now pushed back into the furniture body after the contents of the drawer 1 have been removed. This time, the pin 11 strikes against the upper wall 25 of the guideway 12 and is guided along this upper wall 25 to the rear end of the guideway 12. The stop pin 16 of the block 10 in turn strikes the body-side stop 17, the support plate 18 is moved to the right relative to the block and the lever arm 7 ″ leaves the stop surface 15 on the block 10. The lever 7 is again tilted clockwise and the front panel 6 is lowered.
It is important that the front panel 6 is free from vertical spring loading, since a spring must be tensioned either when the drawer 1 is opened or closed.
The drawer 1 according to the invention is pulled in the rear traversing area from the pull-in device 34 into the rearmost pull-in position. The movement of the drawer 1 is damped by a damper 35. The front panel 6 takes no energy from the pull-in device 34 but supports the insertion movement of the drawer 1, since the gravity of the front panel 6 acts on the drawer 1 in the insertion direction. A horizontal force component is generated via the inclined surfaces 24, 25 of the guide track 12 during the lowering movement of the front panel 6.
The front panel 6 is carried contactlessly above the floor during the pull-out and insertion movement of the drawer 1.
