Process to reduce the cost of oil carburizing water gas and similar gases.
So far, water gas was known to be karburied in the way that oil vapors were broken down by higher temperatures into gaseous hydrocarbons, which were added to the water gas as they were formed. The constant rise in prices
EMI1.1
are used on a large scale, but are currently also widely used for operating diesel engines and for heating purposes, has made the use of carburized water gas unprofitable because its price is currently higher than that of hard coal gas.
Just like the prices of carburizing oils, the prices of gasoline are also rising steadily because, due to the extensive use of gasoline for engine operation, there is a very high demand for gasoline, especially for automobile engines So-called destructive distillation of the mineral oils split the higher hydrocarbons of the heavier oils into lower hydrocarbons by heat with or without the use of a catalyst, sometimes also with the simultaneous use of steam, in order to obtain petrol-like hydrocarbons.
The present process for carburizing water gas or similar gases consists in cleaving the carburizing oil by destructive distillation in such a way that petrol-like hydrocarbons are formed, with considerable amounts of heavy, very heating oil gas being produced at the same time. The gasoline will be from this
