Die am meisten benutzten Fondsitze sind zwischen Vorder- und Hinterachse, also an denjenigen Platz gerückt, an dem sich die auftretenden Stösse weniger bemerkbar machen, als auf Sitzplätzen, welche auf oder hinter der Hinterradachse angeordnet sind. Falls es nicht erforderlich ist, die Notsitze in Benutzung zu nehmen, kann der Raum hinter den Fondsitzen auch zur Aufnahme von Koffer, Benzin, Utensilien und dgl. Verwendung finden.
