Das Aufkleben oder Aufkitten von Gegenständen aus Kork, Holz und dgl. auf Metallflächen führt, wenn als Klebemittel (Kittungsmittel) gewöhnliche tierische Leimlösung verwendet wird, nicht zu dem gewünschten Erfolge, da die aufgeklebten Gegenstände sich von der Unterlage leicht ablösen.
Es ist auch vorgeschlagen worden, die Leirnlösung durch Zusatz von Säure klebe- fähiger zu machen bzw. die Metallflächen auf mechanischem Wege oder durch Säurewirkung vorher aufzurauhen. Die dabei erzielbare Zerreissfestigkeit der Verklebung reicht jedoch nicht für alle Fälle aus, da sie nur mässig gross ist.
Es wurde nun gefunden, dass man eine ungemein feste Verbindung zwischen dem Gegenstande aus Kork. Holz usw. einerseits und der Metallfläche andererseits erzielt, wenn man die eventuell vorher mechanisch aufgerauhte Metallflache zunächst, unter Zuhilfenahme von salpetersäurfhähigcr Leimlösung, mit einer sauren Leimschichte in an sich bekannter Weise überzieht und sodann erst die Verklebung (Verkittung) mit ge-
