Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Process for the production of button buttons for door and other handles provided with a fastening attachment.

For door and other handles, glass buttons are often used, such as one shown in section, for example, in FIG. 1 of the drawing. The button consists of a conical part a and a hollow attachment attachment b.

As can be seen from FIG. 2, such buttons were previously produced by pressing in such a way that the glass mass was pressed into a two-part or multi-part mold c, which has a mold bottom d to form the cavity of the fastening attachment, by means of a press die e, whereupon the finished workpiece f was knocked off from the cup-shaped hollow body g forming around the ram e at the neck h and the fracture point was smoothed by grinding.

However, this known manufacturing method is uneconomical for the reason that the glass button removed from the mold still requires post-treatment by grinding at the break point.

According to the present invention, these disadvantages are eliminated in that the fastening attachment is pressed onto the glowing glass button previously formed and placed in a corresponding mold, in such a way that subsequent treatment is no longer required.

An example of a way of producing the glass buttons according to the invention can be seen in FIG. The button body a is initially on its own in a special
Form made and then inserted in the glowing state in the form i shown in Fig. 3, which is configured accordingly on the side facing the press ram k at I of the loading to be formed fastening approach. The button a is directed with the knock-off point f1l against this part Z of the mold i and now a small one is in the mold opening
Glass gob is inserted and from this the fastening attachment is pressed onto the still glowing button a by means of the press die k.

After removing the workpiece from the
Post-processing is no longer necessary.
