Process for the production of groove insulators from synthetic resin
Groove insulators made of porcelain are usually designed as rotating bodies, since the starting product, namely the unfired, still tough ceramic mass, can be brought into the desired shape by turning on a turntable using a template.

Groove insulators made of plastic, which are produced in casting or compression molds, are unfavorable to produce as rotationally symmetrical bodies, since two-part or multi-part cast or compression molds are required that leave seams on the cast or pressed piece. Such cast or press seams must be
Isolators must be removed with particular care, as they would significantly reduce the insulating effect, especially with high voltages. The same applies to groove insulators with a helical shape
Course of the grooves.

Groove insulators made of porcelain with a helical course of the grooves are known per se, but are difficult to manufacture using the usual manufacturing methods for ceramic bodies.

The subject matter of the invention is a method for producing groove insulators, the grooves of which have a helical course, made of synthetic resin, in particular castable synthetic resin. The above-mentioned disadvantages are avoided according to the invention in that the synthetic resin is introduced into an undivided casting or compression mold and, after hardening, is removed from the casting or compression mold by unscrewing it.

In the case of the synthetic resin groove insulator produced by the method according to the invention, subsequent processing is unnecessary, since it is produced seamlessly. Casting processes have the further advantage that the helical design of the casting mold makes it much easier for the air to escape above the rising level of the liquid resin, so that no air bubbles form between the casting mold and the casting resin.
