Verfahren zur Herstellung von Bunden an Hohlbohrern.
Die Bunde an Hohlbohrern werden bisher durch Stauchen in warmem Zustande an der gewalzt Stange hergestellt. Die durch dieses Stauchen gegebene plötzliche Querschnittsvergrösserung führt nun zur Bildung einer Falte b (s. Fig. 1 der Zeichnung) im Innern des Loches, welche der Grund zu vorzeitigen Bohrerbrüehen ist.
Gemäss der Erfindung wird durch völlig anders geartete Herstellungsverfahren des Bundes die Faltenbildung und damit ein Bruch des Bohrers an dieser gefährdeten Stelle gänzlich vermieden. Der Bund wird nämlich nicht mehr, wie bisher durch Stauchung der Stange hergestellt. sondern derart, dass der Faserverlauf der Stange erhalten bleibt, die beim Stauchen erforderliche hohe Erhitzung und damit verbundene Gefügeveränderung vermieden wird und das Loch in der Stange völlig unverändert bleibt.
Die Durchführung des Verfahrens ist auf verschiedene Arten möglich.
Fig. 2 der Zeichnung veranschaulicht einen Bund von dreieckförmigem Querschnitt, der an beiden Seiten durch autogene oder elektrische Schweissung am Schaft befestigt wird.
Der Bund gemäss Fig. 3 wird vorwiegend nur von einer Seite her verschweisst.
Es kann aber auch gemäss Fig. 4 der ganze Bund durch Auftragsschweissun ? hergestellt werden.

The collars of hollow drills have hitherto been made by upsetting the rolled bar while it is warm. The sudden increase in cross-section caused by this upsetting now leads to the formation of a fold b (see FIG. 1 of the drawing) in the interior of the hole, which is the reason for premature drill smudges.
According to the invention, the formation of wrinkles and thus breakage of the drill at this endangered point is completely avoided by means of completely different manufacturing processes of the federal government. The covenant is no longer made by compressing the rod as it was before. but in such a way that the fiber course of the rod is retained, the high level of heating required during upsetting and the associated structural changes are avoided and the hole in the rod remains completely unchanged.
