Verfahren zur Herstellung von Zellulose aus Schilf, Bin8e'. : nd dgl. Materialien.

Process for the production of cellulose from reeds, Bin8e '. : nd like materials.
Reeds, rushes and the like. Materials show the property. to collapse when processed into cellulose in the cooker, which prevents the lye from attacking properly and creating faulty products. The present invention eliminates this evil by first opening up the raw material to such an extent that it can be easily broken up into a homogeneous paste by mechanical means (e.g. Dutch).
This pulp is now subjected to a ready-to-be-closed boiling and delivers a completely fault-free product, which is also better in its other properties, because the total boiling time is much shorter due to the fine division of the material and the rapid and yet complete breakdown caused by it, the fiber is therefore very spared. Naturally, this also increases the yield. The process is advantageously carried out in two digesters, one of which has been filled with raw material, while the other finishes the final cooking of the pulp mechanically produced after an earlier precooking. The lye from this second digester is now fed into the first one onto the raw material (e.g. by opening a riser pipe).
The lye is still strong enough to cause the raw material to pre-decompose after a short period of reheating and is thereby fully utilized at the same time. The pre-digested material is then crushed, more or less dehydrated and, with fresh cooking liquor, reaches the second cooker, which has meanwhile been removed, and leaves it as a finished product.
The whole process can be carried out with both acidic and alkaline cooking liquids, but the latter are far more recommended. because then the Matt'na) does not have to be cleaned in any way, d. H. the reeds, as they come from the harvest or storage, can go straight to pre-opening without further preparation or sorting.
