Silo.

Silo.
The invention relates to a silo with a row of transverse surfaces carrying the goods to be stored, in which slide openings that are offset from one another and are arranged one above the other are provided. The peculiarity of the invention is that those transverse surfaces are arranged one behind the other like a honeycomb. The aim of this arrangement is to avoid the formation of any air chambers in the silo compartments.
FIG. 1 of the drawing shows a vertical longitudinal section and FIG. 2 shows a cross section through a silo.
The parallel, offset transverse surfaces a, b are connected to each other in pairs by vertical connecting walls g, so that chambers are created whose transverse surfaces are inclined at the angle of slope of the silo and have a honeycomb-like design. The transverse surfaces a, b are not completely brought together, so that slide openings c in the honeycomb-like chambers. d, e, f arise. The one from the Quer8. Walls formed by surfaces a, b and connections g absorb the pressure of the silo material contained in the chambers, so that this pressure does not add up towards the bottom and, in particular, no air spaces can arise.
If one of the lowermost chambers is opened in order to let off the slurry, up to six chambers are emptied in whole or in part in the exemplary embodiment selected for illustration, since these are connected to one another.
But not only an advantageous pressure distribution and avoidance of cavities is achieved by the invention, but when emptying a silo compartment, a good mixing of the material from different honeycomb-like cells is achieved and thus also achieved another advantage, which is that, for example Use of the silo to store coals, the spontaneous combustion of which is prevented by mixing already heated coal with cold.
In the case of cement silos, too, it is desirable to mix larger quantities of the material in order to

formed silo can be divided into different rows by longitudinal walls h.
