Coke oven wall made of blocks provided with recesses.
The invention relates to coke oven walls made of recesses
Blocks and consists in the fact that the blocks arranged offset in horizontal, superimposed layers are cut out on the middle parts of all four edges located inside the wall, whereby a row of both horizontally and vertically connected zigzag-shaped channels for the combustion gases are created in the wall.
The blocks are provided at the bottom of the recessed part with a downwardly projecting tongue which protrudes into a space formed by the recesses in the upper edges of the two blocks immediately below. This causes the
Combustion gases have to repeatedly collide violently against the block parts, even with a horizontal draft.
The drawing illustrates the coke oven wall according to the invention in an exemplary embodiment.
FIG. 1 is a horizontal section through a heating wall along line 1-1 of FIG. 2, FIG. 2 is a section along line - of FIG. 1 and FIG. 3 is a section along line 3-3 of FIG. 2. FIG. Fig. 4 is a plan view of a block, Fig. 5 is a side view and Fig. 6 is a
Section along line 6-6 of FIG. 5 again.
Each of the blocks forming the wall protrudes from the wall surface 7 to the wall surface 8. The blocks are laid in layers according to FIG. 2, which extend in the horizontal direction. Each block is recessed in the middle parts of its four edges located inside the wall at 9, 10, 11 and 12, so that after the blocks are assembled in layers, their recesses work together to form a series of horizontally and vertically connected zigzag channels 13 for the combustion gases ( Fig. 2) ..
If the layers are laid with staggered joints (FIG. 2), the channels 13 are located in such a way that gases that pull through the wall in a vertical direction of passage must swing back and forth in a zigzag shape. In order to achieve the same effect in the case of a horizontal direction of passage of the gases through the wall, the middle part of the blocks is extended downwards over the lower surface of the ends and forms a tongue 14, which is located in the cutouts of the upper edges of the two immediately below The space formed by the blocks protrude. In this way, the tongues 14 make it impossible for the gases to pull through the wall in the horizontal direction without being bounced back and forth, so that the gases must repeatedly hit various parts of the wall violently.
PATENT CLAIMS: 1. Coke oven wall made of blocks provided with cutouts, characterized in that the blocks lying offset in horizontal layers on top of one another are cut out on the central parts of all four edges located inside the wall, so that a row in the wall is both horizontal and vertical interconnected zigzag channels for the combustion gases arise.
