Hahn.

Rooster.
The invention relates to a cock with a sealing piece which is radially movable in the cock plug and which closes off the flow cross section to be sealed; it consists in the arrangement of a mechanically acting pressure device for the sealing piece in order to be able to use the tap also where counter-pressures can act on the sealing piece.
The drawing illustrates an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention as a three-way valve in longitudinal section and cross-section in the axial direction of the through connection.
The housing a has a cylindrical bore for the similarly shaped cock plug b, in the recess c of which the radially movable sealing piece d is left, which is pressed against the cross section to be sealed by the pressure of the agent flowing through the cock on its rear surface.
In order to be able to use such cocks in lines in which counterpressure can occur oin the sealing piece from the cross-section to be completed, the plug, guided through the strips h centrally in the housing a, has a central conical bore l in which an identically shaped mandrel k in Axial direction of the plug is displaceable, the surrounding area acts as a pressure bag.
The sealing piece d inserted into the recess c of the plug periphery carries an extension or rib m extending radially inward through an opening in the plug walld, the rear side of which joins the periphery of the mandrel k as a second pressure surface.

is neither pressed radially outward onto the cross-section to be sealed nor released for lifting off the same.
For easier adjustment of the dome and self-locking of the same and thus also of the sealing piece in the given position, the mandrel in the form of a screw spindle n is led to the outside at the end of the plug sealed by the stuffing box i, which spindle finds its nut thread in the plug itself
EMI1.2
Locking device for the adjusting mandrel k can be used, but the screw spindle shown is preferable as the simplest and safest.
The invention can be used not only for three-way taps, but also for all other taps.
