    Valve housing for wooden wells.

In wells equipped with wooden pipes, the valve located in the depth of the well shaft is usually attached to the lowest pipe section in such a way that it is not easily accessible. Rather, in the event of a repair, the entire well pipe must first be removed from above, in the order of the individual pieces, in order to be able to get to the valve located below. Such work is extremely cumbersome, time consuming and expensive.

To remedy these inconveniences, according to the invention, the cast-iron valve housing fitted between two well pipes and provided with a removable cover is designed in such a way that the drainage device for water left in the well pipe is provided on the cover of the valve housing so that the drainage device can be brought to light when repairs are made and as a result is not a hindrance when working in the well shaft and is also protected from damage.

In the drawing, the valve housing according to the invention is shown in Fig. 1 in vertical section and in Fig. 2 in horizontal section.

The cast iron housing j! is provided with an opening each at the top and bottom. The valve 2 for the entry of the water into the housing is built into the lower opening. The upper opening, 3, is used for the exit of the water into the well pipeline 0 The valve 2 rests on a valve seat 4 screwed tightly into the lower opening. 5, 6 denote the stroke limiting parts.

If repairs are required, it is now only necessary to descend into the shaft and, after previously draining the water through the tap 10, the cover 7
