Druckverfahren.

Printing process.
Attempts have been made to produce color print-like effects using tannin colors in such a way that a pattern of a dye which can be fixed by alkali, e.g. H. Indigo, applied and then over-colored with tannin colors. These are always only dye effects.
In contrast, in the present method, printing is used twice, namely the combination of pre-printing and overprinting, the goods not being subjected to any pre-preparation. The ancestors used the fixation of indanthrene and related dyes with sodium carbonate and hydrosine and as an overprint tannin colors with tanninglycerin in a neutral solution.
By combining the work processes described, an unforeseen, very peculiar technical effect is achieved in an economically advantageous manner, namely the smooth throwing off of the tannin colors at the overprinted areas, whereby the patterns are particularly crude and sharp-edged.
The process is carried out as follows: Indanthrene, Ciha, Helindon and similar dyes that can be fixed using hydrosulphite and alkalis, or sulfur dyes and thioindigo dyes that can be fixed in the specified manner or with sodium sulphide, are printed with a certain excess of alkali, subdued and without finishing with tannin colors overprint.
These are made from dye, tanning glycerine, a neutral solvent such as alcohol, aniline, and a thickener. It is steamed again in the Matherplatt without any acid, fixed in tartar and then, like all colors in this class, soaped hot for a quarter to a half hour; Steaming takes place for 3 minutes in the Matherplatt for the first time, and 3 minutes for the second time.
The tannin colors are thrown off smoothly at the points where the overprint takes place, making the patterns appear particularly beautiful and pure.
AHe tannin colors can be used; the smoother the discarding, the more suitable they are for this procedure; Dyes that are hipr are z. B. Thionine Blue, Auramine O and G, Safranin, etc.
