Gefässe zur Herstellung und Aufbewahrung von Wasserstof'8uperoxyd.
Man hat bisher für die Darstellung und Aufbewahrung von Wasserstoffsuperoxyd für verdünnte Lösungen BleigefiLsse verwendet. Ferner wurde festgestellt, dass Zinn ein für genannten Zweck besonders geeignetes Metall ist.
Es wurde nun gefunden, dass sich Aluminium vermöge seiner Passivitätseigenschaften zur Herstellung und Aufbewahrung von Wasserstoffsuperoxyd ganz besonders eignet. Wenn auch an den Gefässwänden bei Verwendung von Aluminium Zersetzung zu beobachten ist, so geht doch merkwürdigerweise vom Metall nichts in Lösung, so dass z. B. eine in Aluminiumapparaten hergestellte 30%igue Wasserstoflsuperoxydlösung nach Umfüllen in Paraffingefässe völlig haltbar ist. Mit besondorem Vorteil findet das Aluminium da Verwendung, wo es sich nur um kürzere Zeit handelt, in der das Wasserstoffsuperoxyd mit den Gefässwänden in Berührung kommt, also z. B. für Wasserstoffsuperoxyd-Destillationseinrichtungen, und zwar für Kühler, Sammelgefäss, Rohrleitungen und dgl.
Ferner bietet das Aluminium die Möglichkeit, grössere Mengen Wasserstoffsuperoxyd in Kesselwagen zu vorschicken, wobei mit besonderem Vorteil die verwendeten Gefässe innen poliert werden, da sich an glatten Flächen eine geringere Zersetzung zeigt.
Auch Aluminiumlegierungen, die Passivitätserscheinungen zeigen, z. B. mit Magnesium- zusatz, können für die genannten Zwecke Verwendung finden.

Up to now, lead vessels have been used for the preparation and storage of hydrogen peroxide for dilute solutions. It was also found that tin is a particularly suitable metal for this purpose.
It has now been found that aluminum, because of its passivity properties, is particularly suitable for the production and storage of hydrogen peroxide. Even if decomposition can be observed on the vessel walls when using aluminum, it is strange that nothing of the metal goes into solution, so that, for B. a 30% igue hydrogen peroxide solution produced in aluminum apparatus is completely stable after decanting into paraffin vessels. The aluminum is used with particular advantage where it is only a short period of time in which the hydrogen peroxide comes into contact with the vessel walls, e.g. B. for hydrogen peroxide distillation devices, namely for coolers, collecting vessels, pipes and the like.
Furthermore, the aluminum offers the possibility of sending larger amounts of hydrogen peroxide in tank wagons, with the inside of the vessels used being polished with particular advantage, as there is less decomposition on smooth surfaces.
Aluminum alloys that show signs of passivity, e.g. B. with addition of magnesium, can be used for the purposes mentioned.
