distance the burning length of the detonator entering or the flight time of the projectile, for example plotted in numbers. The figures are only indicated by single lines in the drawing. With every increase in the barrel, with the appropriate setting of the runner h to a certain distance, the pointer k on the laiter indicates the flight time of the projectile and the burning time of the detonator, which corresponds to the respective increase in the barrel and the distance set on the runner.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the display device is combined with an ignition device. The same parts are denoted by the same letters as before. The display device itself differs from that shown in FIG. 2 mainly in that the flight times of the projectiles or the burning times of the detonator are not plotted as numbers, but graphically as curves, each of which corresponds to a specific burning time. In addition, the rotor h is not moved by a spindle, but simply by hand. The shaft l mounted on the arm e is used here to adjust the fuse setting machine. This is stored in the hollow trunnion of the gun and has the usual design.
A worm m is attached to the shaft 1 and can rotate the worm wheel o equipped with the adjusting nose n. The disk p is connected to the worm wheel o and has a division according to the burning times to be set. A second worm wheel r contributes to the second
Adjusting the set ring required nose q and can be moved by the worm 8.
This setting device is used to correct the flight times. A mark t provided on the worm wheel r enables setting according to the division u attached to the edge of the actuating machine.
Several ignition setting machines can also be connected to the display device, one of which, however, is always expediently arranged in the trunnion. All setting machines can then be adjusted simultaneously by turning only one shaft I through the worm provided on it.
Instead of the arm e, the sector-shaped plate d can also be swung with the tube, while the arm e remains stationary. Finally, the arrangement can also be made so that the arm e or the plate d does not oscillate with the tube about the trunnion axis, but the oscillating movement of the tube can also be transmitted by suitable transmission members of the plate or the arm.
An embodiment based on this, in which the setting of the distance on the visor simultaneously with the same movement also sets the pointer of the Tempierungsskale so that both setting movements can be accomplished by a single common drive is illustrated by FIGS. 5 to 8 , namely a sighting device is shown here, in which the distance angle changes automatically according to the altitude of the target. This latter device is not the subject of the present invention but is the subject of patent no. 52707.
As can be seen from FIGS. 5 to 8, the Tempierungsskala 1 does not sit here on the trunnion, but on an upper extension 2 of the carriage wall and can be rotated thereon by means of the pin 3. The arm 4 on which the pointer 5 is moved is fixedly arranged on the extension 2. The pointer is shifted again by a screw spindle 6, which can be rotated by a hand wheel 8 by a bevel gear 7.
The handwheel 8 serves at the same time to adjust the distance on the sight and is connected in the illustrated embodiment with the sighting device 9 by a gear, as it is described in patent no. 52707, and which has a bow 10, by means of a
Handlebar 11 of the distance angle is changed automatically when the tube on the horizontal
Is aimed at an elevated target. Since this device does not form the subject of the present invention, it does not need to be described in detail.
The driver arm 12 of the visor sits with a hexagon on the trunnion and is articulated to the Tempier scale J 'by a rod M, in such a way that the
Tempierungsskala, the carriage attachment 2, the arm 12 and the rod 13 form a joint parallelogram.
If the sight is now set to a certain distance by turning the handwheel 8, the bevel gear ratio 7 also moves the pointer 5 along the Tempier scale into the position corresponding to the set distance. This position of the parts is shown in Fig. 6th
If the tube is now raised, the sight is when the target is in the muzzle horizon of the
Tube is brought into the position shown in FIG. 7 by the driver arm 12. At the same time, the driver arm 12 pulls the positioning scale 1 downwards through the rod 13, with the latter rotating around the pin 3. The pointer now shows the flight time of the projectile with the mentioned position of the target and the specified distance.
If, on the other hand, a target located high up is to be shot at, the tube is raised considerably more so that the driver arm 12 moves into the position shown in FIG. 8 and the sight is

shows a different flight time of the projectile.
PATENT. EXPECTATIONS :
1. Device on guns for automatically displaying the flight time of the projectile, characterized in that the device automatically displays the associated flight time of the projectile or the burning time of the detonator when a pointer or the like is set on the target distance and the increase in the barrel.
