Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vordereinheit (100, 200) für eine Gleitbrettbindung, umfassend wenigstens einen Arm (112, 112'; 212, 212'), welcher dazu eingerichtet ist, mit einem Schuh (50) in Eingriff zu treten, und wenigstens einen Öffnungsmechanismus (120, 120'; 220) mit einem Betätigungselement (122, 122'; 222), welches dazu eingerichtet ist, bei einer Betätigung durch einen Benutzer den Eingriff zwischen dem wenigstens einen Arm (112, 112'; 212, 212') und dem Schuh (50) zu lösen, umfassend wenigstens ein Schutzelement (130, 130'; 230), welches verstellbar ist zwischen einer passiven Stellung und einer aktiven Stellung, wobei in der passiven Stellung des wenigstens einen Schutzelements (130, 130'; 230) das Betätigungselement (122, 122'; 222) für eine Betätigung durch den Benutzer zugänglich ist und wobei das wenigstens eine Schutzelement (130, 130'; 230) das Betätigungselement (122, 122'; 222) in der aktiven Stellung derart schützt, dass das Betätigungselement (122, 122'; 222) für eine Betätigung durch den Benutzer nicht mehr zugänglich ist.
