Process for the production of substantive tetrazo dyes which can be further diazotized in substance or on the fiber.
It has been found that one arrives at new, valuable, in substance or on the fiber further diazotizable tetra dyes, if one or two molecules of an amydoaryl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone respectively. an amidoaryl-5-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid or, in any order, one molecule of these compounds and one molecule of any one

Example 3.
4'0 parts p. p-diamidodiphenylurea. TM-disulfonic acid is dissolved in 50 parts of water with the addition of the necessary amount of soda and, after cooling to 6-100 ° C., diazotized using 8 parts of hydrochloric acid and 14 parts of sodium nitrite. The tetrazo compound is then stirred into an alkaline soda solution of 4 parts of m-amidophonyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone. The dye, isolated by salting out and filtration, dyes cotton yellow-orange. The dyeings developed with ss-naphtol show a red-orange shade of great clarity and very good washfastness.
Example 4.
The urea derivative used in Example 3 above is replaced by the equivalent amount of diamidostilbene disulfonic acid (4,14 parts). This gives a dye which directly dyes cotton yellow-red, while the dye developed with naphthol has a clear blue-red shade.
Example 5.
The tetrazole solution, prepared in the usual way from 5-7 parts of m-azoxyaniline, is neutralized with soda and mixed with an ice-cold solution of 8'0 parts of 2: 5-aminonaphthol-1: 7-disulfonic acid and 20 parts of soda. After the formation of the intermediate product is complete, a solution of 55 parts of m-aminophenyl-5-pyrazolone-3-carboxylic acid is added, the mixture is stirred for some time, then the combination mass is warmed up and the dye is salted out. It dyes cotton in yellow-orange nuances, which turn into a clear, deep scarlet color when developed with -Naphtol.
The dyes are represented in an analogous manner when using other diamines of the constitution listed at the beginning. Instead of the first component listed in Example 5, other azo components can also be used; Particularly suitable for this purpose are those which contain a further diazotizable aminoaryl radical, such as. B. amidobenzoyl-amidonaphthol sulfonic acids or amidoaryl-1: 2-naphthimidazole-5-oxy-7-sulfonic acids.
